Summary
InZOIplayers are experiencing some weird moments with babies in the game, and are sharing some of the oddest things they’ve seen.InZOIis an early access game, so it’s expected to see some bugs and glitches, but some of these are downright weird.
InZOIhas seen a player drop-off since launch, but has nonetheless seen great success, moving over a million copies already. High-fidelity Zois, customization tools, and interesting capabilities like Facial Capture have led many players to give the life sim a try.
However, not everyInZOIplayer is having a normal experience, if several fans' recent baby glitches are any indication. Fans have flocked to social media to share their funny and horrifying moments where the babies in the game act abnormally or appear distorted. One user going by Axleotel uploaded a video of their baby casually standing up from a chair and pushing it back into place while floating in mid-air, while Catfist shared an image of an adultZoi trying to hold a baby, but instead clapping their hands around it as it floated in front of them. Another shared an image of a baby “growing up so fast,” with the child’s feet poking out from around where their knees should have been, and their pant legs and sleeves abnormally stretched, while OlivesPlum06 simply marveled at a baby’s distorted face.
Baby Glitches are a Common Sight in Life Sim Games
While these glitches are certainly weird to see, they’re not entirely unheard of in life sim games, includingThe Sims. Over the years, some players ofThe Simshave experienced babies glitchingin similar ways, with their bodies deforming, or the children randomly acting out of character. In some cases, it seems thatThe SimsandInZOIare telling the baby to use the wrong animation, and the game is doing its best to assign the child’s model to the adult rig’s animation. In other words, the baby either floats until its head is level with where an adult’s would be, or the body stretches and distorts to try and fit the same frame as an adult.
AsInZOIis in early access, players are recommended to contact the developer regarding any glitches encountered so the team can look into them. While seeing these odd bugs inInZOImight bother some players, those who have been reporting them are largely finding humor in the moment. Several have made jokes about these being examples of “ugly babies,” with another going so far as to say that they’re happy the “funny bugs” are back in the game.
