The ability to travel faster inPath of Exile 2is one of the most desirable traits a player character can possess. In the late endgame, it’s not killing monsters that’s the hard part, it’s navigating the maze-like maps in a timely manner. The less time an Exile needs to spend honing in on monsters and objectives, the less time they need to clear a map.
Entire builds are created around movement skills inPoE 2solely for the purpose of making traversal more efficient. And one of the best ways players can move faster is by riding a Rhoa Mount. Here’s how.
How to Unlock Rhoa Mount in PoE 2
Rhoa Mount is aLevel 14 Spirit Gemthat can be unlocked after players reach Level 58. It has the following requirements:
These high requirements mean that players are unlikely to find a way to use a Rhoa Mount before reaching the endgame and finalizing their build.
Equip the Rhoa Mount Gem in an empty Skill Slot and press Right-Click to activate it. If you have the necessary Spirit, a Rhoa Mount will be summoned as a companion by your side.To ride it, hover over the Rhoa Mount and press Left-Click.You can dismount at any time by pressing the dodge key (Space).

Best Classes For Rhoa Mount in PoE 2
While all classes can summon and use a Rhoa Mount inPoE 2,you can only use a Bow, a thrown Spear, or Mark Skills while riding atop the mount. This means that, typically, only the Ranger and Huntress Classes will want to use a Rhoa Mount as a means of movement during battle. Additionally, the Huntress cannot use regular Spear moves, onlySpear Skills that require a thrown Spear.
Mark Skills are available to all classes but often require follow-up attacks to work, making the Rhoa Mount without ranged options.
Of course, other classes using a Bow or a thrown Spear will also be able to make use of a Rhoa Mount. However, these are only edge cases that work with specific builds. The Dexterity Requirement also means that Witch Minion builds don’t mesh well with this skill.
How to Use Rhoa Mount in PoE 2
The main idea behind the Rhoa Mount is to turn yourself into a moving artillery unit, raining death down on your enemies while moving in an uninterrupted gallop. A soft requirement for this skill is that your character has enough DPS to clear an entire screen in a matter of seconds. If you take longer than that, then there is no point in even using the Rhoa Mount since this skill’s purpose is to make clearing maps more efficient. If your clear speed is slower with a Rhoa Mount than without it, don’t use it. The 60 Spirit Reservation can be put into other aspects of the character for a much better result.
Secondly, using a Rhoa Mount makes your character very vulnerable to damage. This is because any damage you receive while riding a Rhoa Mount is converted into Heavy Stun buildup, which, when filled up, means the mount is knocked to the ground, and you’re left stunned for a long duration. InTier 15+ maps, this is a death sentence. This weakness cannot be solved by stacking defenses. The only solution is overwhelming damage that ensures enemies don’t even get to touch your mount.
When Should You Dismount
If you summon a Rhoa Mount and then dismount, it will remain on the battlefield and aid you in combat, just like a regular minion summon. While this can be used in a pinch to avoid getting stunlocked as well as in boss battles, it should not be your main go-to action upon seeing normal or magic mobs. Only rares and bosses should warrant this reaction.
