ThoughSkyrimwastes no time giving players a companion to “carry your burdens”,Oblivionis not quite so friendlyto players looking for a place to store their items. InOblivion Remastered, item storage is somewhat limited, but there are more ways to store items inOblivionthan one might think.
In addition to storing items in a home, which can cost a lot of Gold, there are three other ways to store itemsOblivion Remasteredplayers can take advantage of: a special tree stump in the Imperial City, Jauffre’s chest in Weynon Priory, and any container specifically labeled “Sack”. This guide explains how to store items inOblivion Remasteredand briefly describes where to find each of these permanent storage locations.
Store Items In Your House
Buy A House To Get Storage In Oblivion Remastered
The first place most players might think to permanently store items inOblivion Remasteredis a house. You can buy a home in most major cities throughout Cyrodiil, andone of the cheapest is My Imperial House– a shack in the Waterfront District of the Imperial City. Head to the Office of Imperial Commerce in the Market District and talk to Vinicia Melissaeia, who will offer you the keys for 2,000 Gold (if you have a high enough Disposition with her).
Most houses in the game will not come with a way to store items,Oblivion Remasteredplayers must purchase Storage upgrade plans. For example, to get storage in My Imperial Home, you must purchase the Home Storage Plans from Sergius at the Three Brothers Trade Goods, who also sells a variety of other home upgrade options.
You can also complete the quest “Zero Visibility” to earn a permanent room at the Roxey Inn to the north of the Imperial City. This drawers in this room work just like storage in an owned house does, and nothing you store here will despawn.
Jauffre’s Chest In Weynon Priory
Store Items In The Assistance Chest, Until The Priory Is Destroyed
One of the best ways to store itemsOblivion Remasteredplayers can take advantage of early is the chest next to Jauffre’s desk at Weynon Priory. Bring the Amulet of Kings to Jauffre, then ask him for “Assistance”. Jauffre will get up and unlock a storage chest, which contains a variety of items that will be useful for getting your adventure started on the right foot.
Once you loot the container, the chest will not reset, and can be used to permanently store items.Oblivion Remasteredplayers will not be able to access this chest once the Mythic Dawn invades Weynon Priory, though. If you want to keep using this chest, do not bring Martin back to Weynon Priory, and avoid himduring the Kvatch Oblivion Gate questline.
Any “Sack” Container
Any Object Labeled “Sack” Will Not Reset
Aside from chests within houses and the chest at Weynon Priory, there are a handful of other storage containers inOblivion Remasteredthat will not reset your items. Normally, after three days, all basic containers will refresh their contents, deleting anything contained within. However, every container labeled “Sack” does not refresh, and can be used for permanent storage.
The container must have the exact name “Sack” – no synonyms, no extra words, no adjectives, exactly those four letters and nothing more.
There is one problem with thisOblivion Remasteredstorage method. You must remember where your chosen Sack is. There are hundreds of Sacks in the game, so if you decide to use one for storage, be sure to note down where it is, or use your custom map marker to highlight its location on the world mapso you can return at a later time.
There are some other containers that can be used forOblivion Remastereditem storage, but these can be harder to find or have similar names as other containers that don’t reset items. Sacks are the most common, and as long as there is nothing else in the name, you’re able to reliably use a Sack to store items.
A Hollow Tree Stump In The Imperial City
Just Behind Rindir’s Staffs In The Market District
There’s a peculiar tree stump behind Rindir’s Staffs in the Imperial City. Just opposite the Office of Imperial Commerce in the Market District, look for an alleyway next to Rindir’s Staffs. Walk through and look to the right in this hidden garden to find a Hollow Tree Stump.
This is no ordinary tree stump, though. Items you place in this stump will remain there permanently. Find the Hollow Tree Stump, and you will have access to one of the best ways to store items in the game. Its convenient location in the middle of the Market District makes it a great place to store yourhigh-value (or high-weight) wares, and you aren’t likely to forget where it is, unlike a random Sack.
