Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2is a medieval RPG that continues the story of the main protagonist, Henry, from the first game. Players are thrown into a political war and a tale of revenge as they travel across Bohemia. Despite the high stakes, there’s still time for romance, with several characters being romanceable.
One of the most in-depth romance options is Henry’s main companion, Hans Capon. Hans is a nobleman—often the cause of Henry’s troubles—and somewhat spoiled, but the pair make a heartwarming couple if players choose to pursue that path. Important Quests to Romance Hans Capon in KCD2
Players must amp up their charm to build a positive reputation with Hans. There are several opportunities to flirt with him throughout the game, and their slow-burn relationship develops naturally as the story progresses. While there are explicit romantic dialogue choices, subtle moments also play a key role in building the relationship to a high enough level.
Back in the Saddle
Back in the Saddleis the first quest where players can begin their romantic relationship with Hans. The quest follows Henry’s rescue of Hans from the hangman’s noose. Otto von Bergow recruits the pair to investigate, but players must speak with Hans before they leave.
He will apologize for his earlier behavior, and Henry will have the opportunity to reconcile with him. To flirt, select the dialogue option with the heart symbol:
The pair will then set off. Along the way, players can talk to Hans and improve their reputation with him by responding kindly. Whenever he suggests racing, agree; Henry will earn reputation with Hans whether he wins or loses.
For Victory!
While no flirtation options exist inFor Victory!, players can still gain reputation with Hans. For Victory! is a Point of No Return, so finish any unfinished side quests before starting. During the party with other noblemen working with Otto von Bergow, defend Hans when prompted in conversation with von Bergow.
Once Henry is free to explore during the quest, he can talk to Hans to continue the mission. Call the Chamberlain a fool to make Hans happy. Hans will ask Henry to fetch wine and equipment for their attack the next day. The wine can be obtained from Cook Manyeta in the kitchen, and the armor and sword can be picked up from the blacksmith.
Players must pass several charisma checks to obtain the armor without a fight.
Completing all of Hans' requests before going to sleep will ensure the best response. Playerscan also pursue Black Bartoschor Widow Johanka for a less long-term romance; spending the night with either does not impact Henry’s relationship with Hans.
Taking French Leave
The next flirtation opportunity with Hans comes in the second act duringTaking French Leave. Hans is once again held captive, and Henry must rescue him. After reuniting, Henry begins to explain the escape plan.
Hans is less than thrilled about escaping through the tunnels due to his claustrophobia. Reassure him by choosing the flirtatious option with the heart symbol:
The Italian Job
In the late-game mission The Italian Job, players will find two more chances to deepen their romantic bond with Hans. This long, combat-heavy quest sees the group infiltrating a meeting, with Godwin posing as an Italian cardinal. After rescuing the nobles, players must speak with Jan Zizka to advance the quest.
Hans is located on the battlements near Zizka. When speaking with him, choose the following flirtatious dialogue options:
Toward the end of the quest, the group regathers underground before returning to Ruthard Palace. Henry is encouraged to find Hans, who is alone in a side room. Hans shares that he didn’t succumb to anxiety in the tunnels. When prompted, flirt by saying:
How to Romance Hans During the Siege of Suchdol in KCD2
The final step in romancing Hans is to make things official during the siege of Suchdol, part of the main questHunger and Despair. This is one of the last quests in the game. Henry and his brother, Sam, must sneak out of Suchdol to seek reinforcements. Before leaving, Henry must tie up loose ends with companion characters.
Katherine’s romance arcalso occurs during Hunger and Despairif players have a good reputation with her.
Players can’t romance both Katherine and Hans because romancing one locks you out of romancing the other.
When ready to proceed with the quest, speak to Hans in his room at Suchdol. Listen to his story, and when prompted, select:
