How To Repair Armor In Oblivion Remastered

Players should know that there are two ways of repairing armor in the game. One is by requesting repairs from one of the vendor NPCs (Blacksmiths) located in towns and cities all across Cyrodiil. The second is by using aRepair Hammer, an item that has a certain durability, which is spent every time they are hit with a magic, ranged, or physical attack.

Repair Hammers can be bought from Blacksmiths and other Traders, and also found in the world, mostly inside locked chests. So, if players neededa reason to level up lockpicking, finding more Repair Hammers might be just the motivation they need.

Players should take into consideration that repairing their own Armor and Weapons might be a bad idea while theArmorer Skillis Low, asthere’s a chance to break the hammerinstead. Broken hammers will become unusable, and players must replace them with another to keep repairing their gear.

Still, since the only way to elevate the Armorer level and obtain its perks is to actually repair armor, the more they use it, the less likely this will happen.

Some of the Perks of the Armorer Skill Tree allow players to make better use of their Repair Hammers. Consider searching for anArmorer Trainerin the cities or towns to increase the character’s skill training level. Remember that each character can only train 5 times per Level, so use these chances wisely.

Durability not only decreases armor effectiveness but also weapon damage. So, ideally, players should keep their equipment in top condition at all times, or at leastat 80 %, to avoid suffering penalties.

How To Repair Enchanted Items In Oblivion Remastered

ToRepair Enchanted ItemsinOblivion Remastered, players need to unlock theApprentice perk(level 25) ofArmorer, which unlocks the Perk that allows them to repair Items with special properties. Players should take into consideration that the game will always take their Armorer level as one below their current level when repairing items that are enchanted, so that also increases the chance for their Repair Hammers to break when repairing enchanted gear.

To prevent losing items, it is advisable to use the repair services fromBlacksmiths, but if players have no other choice but to manage their own repairs (especially if they are in the middle of a dungeon), they should first raise their Armorer level to avoid ruining their gear by mistake.

Since Repair Hammers are cheaper than the Blacksmith service, it is advisable to invest early on Skill Trainers and spare Repair Hammers to raise the Armorer level using trash items (loot picked from Bandits, for example) to prevent losing valuable gear in the process.
