Soon after exiting the sewers, you need to open the map from your Journal. This will show you all the available cities, and you’re able to fast travel to them. Each city has its own Mage’s Guild, except the Imperial City, which has theArcane University—we’ll get back to that. Fast travel to any city and speak to a guard, and they will direct you to the location of the Mage’s Guild. If you visit the guild at night, you might find everyone sleeping,so it’s better to wait until 8:00 AM.
Inside the Mage’s Guild, you can find the Guild Master and immediately join without needing to complete any tasks. However, if you want to advance further in the Mage’s Guild, you will need to complete a recommendation quest, which is unique to each city’s guild. Upon completing all the recommendation quests in the seven cities, players gain access to the Arcane University in the Imperial City.
Once you join the guild, you will receive the Mage’s Guild Key, which you can use to access the Library and Living Quarters in any Mage’s Guild. TheLiving Quarters provide a bed for you to sleepon if you need toupgrade your attributesand level.
It is also important to note that any books, crystal balls, and items found inside the guild are yours for the taking. You can sell these items to NPCs in the guild for a bit of Gold, which can be helpful during the early stages of the game.
