The Forbidden Lands inMonster Hunter Wildsare always full of exciting battle challenges for players to take on and test their skills. However, sometimes there’s an additional challenge in figuring out where to find a monster or the quest behind it.
A prime example of that inMonster Hunter WildsisZoh Shia, the game’s final story boss, which now has a High Rank option for players to tackle and gain rewards from. Unlocking that option requires certain conditions that aren’t exactly clear, and if you’re finding yourself in that same position, here’s a guide to help youaccess Zoh Shia hunts as often as needed.
How to Unlock Zoh Shia Investigation in Monster Hunter Wilds
Remember, tounlock High Rank Zoh Shiato begin with, you need to beat least HR 50. At that point inChapter 6of the story, you’ll then unlock the quest called’A First Cry.‘This pits you against High Rank Zoh Shia for the first time, and enables you to start earning material rewards from battling them. you may then use those materials to craft the visually striking Zoh Shia armor sets and weapons for your hunter and Palico.
However, there’s a caveat when it comes to Zoh Shia in particular. Similar toJin Dahaad in the Iceshard Cliffs, Zoh Shia will only spawn under certain conditions. Those conditions can passively manifest as you do other activities in the game, but the odds are relatively slim. If you’re looking to specifically battle Zoh Shia sooner rather than later, then you’ll need to force it to spawn. To do that, return to your tent (preferably at a base camp) and scroll over to the ‘Rest’ option.
For Zoh Shia, its spawn chances don’t seem to be affected by the time of day. While some sources speculate that the best time to find it is at night, Zoh Shia has been observed spawning during other time slots, such as the morning. However, Zoh Shia’s spawn rate is most affected by the weather/environmental conditions.
Specifically, you always want to choose ‘Inclemency’when resting to increase those spawn odds. It may not work immediately on the first try, but no matter the time of day, Inclemency is what you want to go with. By using that method, Zoh Shia should spawn within a couple of rest attempts or so. Just be mindful that each rest you take costs a hefty500Guild Points.
Once you do manage to spawn Zoh Shia, it’s then a matter of getting to their stomping grounds. In contrast to other monsters who usually roam freely, Zoh Shia can only be fought in its own unique arena at the very bottom of the Ruins of Wyveria, by the Dragontorch. you may’t access it by simply running to it on your Seikret. Instead, you need tounlock an Investigationfor Zoh Shia, which you can do via your world map (as seen above).
Once you see the prompt on the right-hand menu that indicates that Zoh Shia has appeared, there should be an option to open an Investigation into the monster. Select it and this will add an entry for Zoh Shia to yourField Survey History menu.
Return to your tent and go to that menu. Look for Zoh Shia among your options, and you’ll need400 Guild Pointsto unlock it as an Investigation. From that point, you can select it as your next quest, and you’ll automatically be sent to Zoh Shia’s arena once you depart. Remember to prepare accordingly, asZoh Shia is no pushoverthis time around
How to Farm High Rank Zoh Shia in Monster Hunter Wilds
Once you open and “purchase” the Zoh Shia investigation from your Field Survey History menu for the first time, it will always be available to you. Even if time passes and Zoh Shia depawns from the area, you can now fight Zoh Shia virtually any time you want by queueing for the investigation as its own quest.
This enables you to farm Zoh Shia as often as you need to. Just make sure to have the items you need to properly survive the battle and grill some quality meals beforehand.
