How to Get the Amstrigian Helmet in MH Wilds

To get this novelty bird helmet, all players need to do iscomplete theWhen Do Quematrice Sing event quest. As the quest’s name implies, players will have to hunt a Quematrice here — it’ll only be the regular High Rank variant of the monster, not the Tempered version, so it should be smooth sailing.

The Quematrice is one of the easiest monsters to fight in the game, second only to the Chatacabra in terms of overall difficulty. Its attacks are simple and easy to avoid, and while its main weakness is Water, it will easily fold to any flavor of violence as long as you hit it enough times. The only thing you should keep an eye out for in this quest is the Rathian that will try to swoop in and fight the Quematrice itself.

Is the Amstrigian Helmet Any Good?

As mentioned,it’s more of a novelty item. The Amstrigian Alpha helmet comes with 36 Defense and negative resistances to everything but Thunder and Dragon. Also, it has Evade Extender 1 and Wide Range 2 — together, these skills will extend the players' dodge distance and make it so that certain consumables also affect allies when used.

Evade Extender and Wide Range aren’t necessarily bad skills, but they pale in comparison to other skills that improve the player’s damage output or offer other quality-of-life improvements, like Speed Eating or Recovery Up. More importantly, the Amstrigian Alpha helmet does not have any decoration slots, which severely hampers buildcrafting options.
