This serves as the game’s initial damage cap, though it is possible to get past it. How to Hit Over 9999 Damage in Clair Obscur Expedition 33
To break the damage cap, players must obtain thePainted PowerPictos, which allows a character to deal damage in excess of 9,999 with their attacks. This Pictos is awarded upondefeating the Paintressat the end ofClair Obscur: Expedition 33’s second actand playing through a short sequence that takes place in the Manor. Players who work through the game’s main story are thus guaranteed to receive the Painted Power Pictos.
The Paintress is found at Monolith Peak, a location that is accessed from the end of the Inside the Monolith map.
Once a player has unlocked Painted Power, they should equip the Pictos to one of theirparty members inClair Obscur: Expedition 33. That character will then be capable of dealing damage in quantities beyond the initial cap, and players will unlock this effect as a Lumina after completing four battles with the equipped party member. It is strongly recommended that players then activate this Lumina for every party member, allowing them all to deal more than 9,999 damage.
Indeed, removing the damage cap for all characters is a tremendous boon, and doing so is, essentially, required before some of the game’s hardest content can be cleared. For example, it would be tremendously tedious to work throughClair Obscur: Expedition 33’s Endless Towerwithout having activated Painted Power for every party member, as many of the Nevrons that are found at that location have extremely large health bars.
Attacks that Deal Over 9,999 Damage
After a character has been given the Painted Power Lumina, they will have the potential to deal more than 9,999 damage with any attack, and players will eventually be able to use standard skills to break that barrier.
