If the nearby Rune Essence Geyser is depleted, a small journey to the unknown will take players to another Geyser. Doing other chores until the Rune Essence respawn works fine too.

How To Get Rune Essence In RuneScape: Dragonwilds
To get a Rune Essence inRuneScape: Dragonwilds, players must find a Rune Essence Geyser, a small hole in the ground with colored mist and floating rocks. There should be some Rune Essence rock on the ground that can bemined with a pickaxe. The Geyser also has some floating rocks thatcan be mined, albeit requiring an extra step.
To mine the floating Rune Essence, players can eitherknock the rock to the ground using a projectile attack (spell or arrow)or use theRocksplosionspell. A projectile attack can be done using a staff orbow inRuneScape: Dragonwilds. Meanwhile, the Rocksplosion spellunlocks atMining Skill Lv 11, and costs 15 Earth Runes and 5 Fire Runes to cast.

To get Runes inRuneScape: Dragonwilds, players mustuse the Rune Altar and craft it using Rune Essences; one Rune Essence grants 10 Rune stones.
In the beginning, you can only craftAir RuneandAstral Rune. To unlock the rest of the Rune recipes inRuneScape: Dragonwilds, you simply need tolevel up the Runecrafting skill. You can do this by mining Rune Essence and crafting Runes.
