One of the best things aboutThe Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remasteredis that there is not always a logical proportion between the length of a quest and the rewards it offers in return. Sometimes, an unexpectedly brief quest can come up with valuable rewards that can help the player significantly throughout their journey.
Speaking of The Killing Field, it is one of those quests that can be completed in a short amount of time, as all it has to offer is resist against a few waves of goblins, but the final reward is well worth the try. Of course, only if you tackle the task perfectly!
Starting The Killing Field In Oblivion Remastered
In order to kick off the quest, the player must visit theGrey Mare Innin Chorrol. Enter the city of Chorrol from the South Gate and then take a right. The first building on your right is the Grey Mare Inn. Inside, you will find a man with gray hair named Valus Odiil asking for help while concerned about his sons.
Talk to Valus and tell him that you will help his sons to fight the hostile creatures. Your map will now be updated with the location of his sons. Head there and talk to one of the sons, and they will ask you to follow them to Odiil Farm.
How To Get Chillrend
Once the sons arrive, the fight will begin. Three to fourwaves of Goblinswill attack the sons from different sides of the Odiil Farm. Keep in mind that you must protect the sons at all costs if you want to getChillrendin the end. If any of the sons die, the reward will be reduced to Gold from Chillrend. So, it’s best to rush the enemies and get rid of them before they even reach the sons inside the farm.
Once the battle comes to an end, return to the Grey Mare Inn and report all that happened to Valus. If both sons survive the battle, Valus will reward the player withChillrend, a magical shortsword with a strength of 3. This isone of the best shortswords for the early gamethat will work perfectly alongside a shield in combat.
If any of the sons dies, Valus will only grant the player75Gold coins. Make sure to save the game before the fight in the farm begins, so that you can reload quickly if any of the sons dies during the battle, as there is no autosave before the fight and following the sons to the farm after every failure can be quite annoying and time-consuming.
