How to Get the Totem of Undying in Minecraft
Players canobtain the Totem of Undying from Evokers, a spell-castingvariant of the Illager. TheEvoker will always drop a Totem of Undying upon death, regardless of whether players use a sword with Looting as its enchantment. To find Evokers, players will want to be onthe Normal world difficulty, and then they canfind Evokers either at Woodland Mansions or during Villager Raids.
The easiest way to grab a Totem of Undying is through Raids. Raids can be started at any Village, but players must first drink the Ominous Bottle item. Ominous Bottles are found by killing Pillager Bannermen or by looting Trial Chambers. Ominous Bottles provide players with the Bad Omen effect for 100 minutes, and entering a Village with this effect active will start a Raid. During these Raids, Evokers can spawn as part of the enemy mob alongside other Illagers, and killing them will always drop a Totem of Undying.
Woodland Mansions are randomly generated with the world seed, and finding them is going to be rather hard, as these great structuresonly spawn in the dark forestbiomes. Entering a Woodland Mansion, players will be able to hunt down the Evoker to kill it for the Totem of Undying.
What Does the Totem of Undying Do in Minecraft?
The Totem of Undying is an item that players can hold to save them from dying. The Totem of Undyingonly works if it is placed within the off-hand or is being held in the main hand. This means that the Totem of Undying will not work if it’s in the hotbar or the player’s inventory, as it must be the equipped and held item.
When holding the Totem of Undying, if players receive fatal damage from any source that would have killed them, the Totem of Undying exchanges itself for the player’s life. This means that the Totem of Undying will be consumed, and players will not die. Instead, players will have40 seconds of Regeneration 2to restore their health, along with4 seconds of Fire Resistance 1and5 seconds of Absorption 2.
