There are a number of weapon types inRunescape: Dragonwilds, and if you’re looking for one that can cleave through big groups in melee range, then the Greatsword is the weapon for you. It’s not as fast as the regular one-handed swords, axes, and maces, but it has a stronger damage profile and the ability to sweep through groups with ease.
Apart from its long reach, the Greatsword class of weapons aren’t bad when it comes to fighting solo targets either. Plus, it has a decently good Block stat, which means you won’t need a shield to completely defend against most melee attacks. If this type of weapon interests you, here’s how you can get the very first Greatsword inRunescape: Dragonwilds.
How to Get Bronze Greatsword in Runescape: Dragonwilds
The first Greatsword in the game is one that you canmake out of Bronze. It’ll take a little while before you’re able to make this weapon, but if you’re determined to rush through relatively high-level areas, you can get a Bronze Greatsword before you can finish the first parts of the Dragon Slayer questline.
To craft a Bronze Greatsword, you’ll need the following:
Required Crafting Stations
You can craft Bronze Bars bycombining Copper and Tin at a Furnace, and to get aFurnace, you need to get aKiln. For the latter two, you mustfirst collect Clayfrom the swamps and some Fire Runes, which you can make at a Rune Altar after leveling up your Runecrafting skill to 13.
you’re able to find plenty of Copper and Tin around the general vicinity of the river west of the Fractured Plains.
Leather is made byprocessing Animal Hide at a Tanning Rack. Meanwhile, Wool Thread is made at aSpinning Wheel using either 1 Fleece or 3 Soft Animal Fur. Getting Fleece is highly recommended as it is more efficient (and fairly easy to get too).
After getting all the materials, you’ll then need to make aSmithing Forge, and to make that, you’ll need to get Vault Shards. These drop from the rock sentinels guarding Vaults. Chests within these Vaults may also have some Vault Shards too.
Vaults will automatically get marked on your map once you discover a region.
Greatsword Overview
As mentioned, Greatswords are slower than one-handed weapons, but faster than the two-handed Warhammers. Its moveset contains wide, sweeping attacks, including a spinning Special Attackthat’s excellent for clearing groups of tightly-packed enemies.
If you’re looking for a weapon with good crowd control, then the Greatsword is an excellent pick, especially since it can parryand block with decent efficiency. However, if you’re looking for high DPS, then a one-handed sword, axe, or mace might be the better option. The Warhammer is great for burst damage and hit-and-run tactics, so consider getting one if that playstyle appeals to you.
