Runescape: Dragonwildsfeatures the usual triumvirate of RPG playstyles: the melee fighter, the magical wizard, and the ranged archer. Your gear is the only thing that defines your class in this game, and if you want to be a ranger, you’ll of course need abow.
Like other survival-crafting titles, players can craft a rudimentary bow very early inRunescape: Dragonwilds. However, it’ll take more than crafting bench to get one. If you’re confused on how to get a bow, here’s what you need to do.
Crafting a Bow in Runescape: Dragonwilds
If you decided to follow the tutorial, you’ll eventually reach a point where you must hunt some deer shortlyafter building a base. Melee weapons won’t cut it here, which means you’ll need a bow of some sort. You can start crafting one by first building a Spinning Wheel, which you can make by using the following materials:
Ash Logs and Stone are quite literally everywhere. You can either pick them up or gather them from large rocks and Ash trees. As for Flax, you can find them all over Bramblemead Valley and Temple Woods. Look for clumps of blue flowers on the ground, and pick them up. They can sometimes be found in ponds as well, so be sure to keep an eye out.
Once you’ve gathered the materials, open the Build menu and select the Spinning Wheel.verify to place it inside a house(complete with walls and roofing), otherwise, it won’t work.
From the Spinning Wheel, craft three Coarse Threads. This will unlock the recipe forthe Ash Bow.Go to your Crafting Tableand select Ash Bow to make one. Make sure to have three Coarse Threads and 12 Ash Logs on-hand.
How to Craft Arrows
Bows are useless without ammunition, and at this point in the game, you can craft either Stone or Fang Arrows. The former is much more accessible, but it won’t deal as much damage as the latter. Still, they’re great for the early game, especially if all you need is basic ammunition.
To make Stone Arrows, you’ll need the following:
If you’re interested in making Fang Arrows, simply replace Stones with Small Animal Fangs.
You can get Feathers from chickens and birds nests. The former are fairly common around Bramblemead Valley and Temple Woods, and a couple of them spawn near the Wise Old Man’s broken tower too. Unlike deer, chickens won’t run away. Instead, they’ll actively try and fight you, so getting arrows from them won’t be an issue. Meanwhile, birds nests can be obtained randomly by felling trees after reaching a certain Woodcutting level.
As for Small Animal Fangs, you may get them by killing fanged critters like Giant Rats. Again, these are fairly common around the starting areas, and if you want an easier time finding them, hunt at night and let the glows of their eyes give their positions away.
