If you’re not a fan of living ships or are an avid starship collector inNo Man’s Sky, there’s another type of star vessel you may add to your collection: Sentinel Interceptors. These ships are like the Sentinels you fight in open space, but they come in different variants and colors.
There are two ways of acquiring a Sentinel ship inNo Man’s Sky.One is by finding a Harmonic settlement using an Echo Locator, and the other is by defeating the Sentinel Capital Ship. Both methods might take some time, however, so here’s what you need to know toget a Sentinel Interceptor inNo Man’s Sky.
How to Get a Sentinel Interceptor Using an Echo Locator in No Man’s Sky
Find a Dissonant Planet
Sentinel Inerceptors appearsimilarly to regular crashed shipsbut only onDissonant systems. Open the Galaxy Map, find a system that says Dissonant instead of Water, and warp to it. Onlyone planet per system has Dissonance, so use the scanner on the ship to locate a planet with a purple “Dissonance detected” tag in its description.
Acquire an Echo Locator
To find a crashed Sentinel Interceptor on a Dissonant planet, find a Harmonic settlement using an Echo Locator.Echo Locators drop from Dissonance Resonatorsaround the Dissonant planet. They look like tall drilling machines and are always accompanied by a group of Corrupted Sentinels. you may defeat the Dissonance Resonator for a chance to get an Echo Locator or an Inverted Mirror.
Reach the Harmonic Echo
Use the Echo Locator from the inventory to pinpoint the location of a Harmonic Echo. Harmonic Echo is a settlement that has a few things for you to do and explore. There’s a lot ofHarmonic Scrap that may contain Atlantideum, Nanites, Exosuit Expansion Units, and more. At the far back of the settlement, there’s a Harmonic Interface.
EachHarmonic Interface has a puzzle. Here’s how to solve it:
After solving the puzzle, you can deactivate the Multi-Tool seal and locate the Dissonance Spikes. Deactivating the Multi-Tool seal allows you to inspect and claim the Sentinel Multi-Tool from the station on the left of the Harmonic Interface.Locating Dissonance Spikes marks the location of the nearest crashed Sentinel Interceptor.
You don’t have to choose between the Multi-Tool and a ship. After selecting one option, go back to the Harmonic Interface and select the other.
Fix the Sentinel Interceptor
Reach the Dissonance Spike coordinates and interact with the Sentinel Interceptor. Move all the salvage to your inventory, including the Hyaline Brain. At this stage, you’ll have a quest in the Log tied to this particular ship.
Find the Hyaline Brain in your inventory and select Probe Subconscious. Hop in the starship andfollow the marker to the Ancient Site. The quest shows the exact coordinates, but you can simply use the quest marker if you prefer. Interact with the Monolith on the site to cleanse the Hyaline Brain, transforming it into the Harmonic Brain.
Some Monoliths can bug out and present the wrong dialogue, after which you won’t be able to interact with them again to progress the quest. To avoid this, make a save before interacting with the Monolith or look for a different crashed ship.
Bring the Harmonic Brain back to the Sentinel Interceptor and fix the Pilot Interface. Now, you can inspect the starship and add it to your collection.
How to Get a Sentinel Interceptor Using a Sentinel Capital Ship in No Man’s Sky
Another way to find a Sentinel Interceptor is bydefeating the Sentinel Capital Ship. Start by attacking a civilian fleet to summon the Sentinels, fly away from the fleet, and defeat all Interceptors until you reach wave five.
Before engaging the freighter, get rid of all the remaining Interceptors.Similar to the pirate Dreadnought, the Sentinel Capital Ship has shield generators (brown ball-shaped structures) on both sides alongside multiple turrets.Prioritize destroying turrets and then shield generators. Unfortunately, the Sentinel Capital Ship doesn’t have any other weak spots, so kick back, relax, and hold down the trigger until the ship is destroyed.
Defeating the Sentinel Capital Ship awards a Carrier AI Fragment. It’s a consumable that works similarly to an Echo Locator but leads directly to a crashed Interceptor. If the ship is in another system, it’ll point you to it using the Galaxy Map. Then, you can head to the crash site and follow the same steps to fix the ship.
