There’s never a shortage of secrets to find in DON’T NOD’sLost Records: Bloom & Rage, and with so much to see through Swann’s camcorder lens, some of those secrets can be easy to overlook in both tapes. It’s always a priority to thoroughly explore everything in each scene of the game, as simply interacting with something can lead to deeper discoveries and unique rewards.
One such secret inLost Records: Bloom & Rage’s second tape is the variety of numbers you can call on Swann’s phone, namely the number to Kat’s hospital. There’s a trick to getting it, and if you want to know what it is, here’s a guide to help you unlock this emotional easter egg.
How to Use Swann’s Phone in Lost Records: Bloom & Rage Tape 2
Swann’s phone is something that players have been able to interact with since the events in Tape 1, not just for story progression but also some intriguing easter eggs. For instance, you can easily call the numbers listed for Swann’s friends in the journal beside the phone, but paying extra close attention while exploring Velvet Cove during each scene could also reward you with even more numbers to try.
In the case of Tape 2, your first opportunity to use Swann’s phone again is during Scene 3 (Alone Again), when Swann is forced to pack up another box and laments the state of things since the Blue Spruce Bar concert. Once you have control of Swann, walk over to her bed where you will see her pink phone sitting on top of her journal. ‘Examine’ the phone to use it.
How to Call Kat’s Hospital in Lost Records: Bloom & Rage Tape 2
Along with the usual listed numbers for Autumn, Nora, and Kat in Swann’s journal, there’s actually a secret number you can obtain by calling Kat’s house. Do so, and Corey will answer. As expected, Corey’s first words to Swann aren’t nice ones, but you can use the provided dialogue options to ask how Kat’s doing at the hospital. This call helps give initial clarity to Kat’s situation since the Blue Spruce Bar concert, and something more if you push Corey enough.
As Swann pleads with Corey to get in contact with Kat, he actually ends up offering the number to her hospital, which is285-555-0919. As this is a secret number, it’s one you have to remember on your own. After hanging up with Corey, punch the number in and a receptionist at the hospital will answer. Swann responds that she’s looking for a patient named Kat Mikaelsen, to which the receptionist says that normally only families can contact pediatric patients.
It’s not yet confirmed whether this is a response you get under any circumstances or if it only happens if you romance Kat in Tape 1, but the receptionist will then say that Kat “left a note” specifically for Swann. The call then connects directly to Kat, who, despite her exhaustion, reveals to Swann that a hemorrhage was the reason for her fainting at the concert. She remarks how she feels trapped inside the hospital, and then cuts the call when her sister Dylan returns.
While calling this number doesn’t necessarily unlock an achievement, it’s one of many in the game’s deep trove of secrets that rewards players for thoroughly exploring every detail it has to offer.
