How to Navigate the Desert & Reach the Longinus Gamma Facility

The first part of the Exfiltrator mission in the Operations selection will see players land on the sandy surface of Avarax, where they must traverse forward to reach an open desert area. In this area, there is a Tyranid enemy known as the Trygon, which will burrow into the ground and navigate underneath the sand to try and find sprinting players. There is no way to kill the Trygon at this part of the mission, so push into the caves and try and keep to rocky surfaces so that the Trygon cannot burrow upwards to attack you and your squad. If the Trygon does appear, simply dodge its attacks, as there is no way to parry it.

Players will want to navigate across the desert, keeping to caves and using the glowing red beacons in the distance to find safety, where they will eventually discover a terminal to activate an elevator that will allow players to access the Longinus Gamma Facility. There is a small lockdown sequence to initiate this elevator, sokeep the Tyranids at bayand try to spread out from the team to avoid the Trygon from attacking all players in one swoop. Once the elevator opens, players should all run inside where they will be safe, and have an opportunity to heal up and grab ammo.

How to Eradicate the Tunnels

Once players follow down the elevator into the lower areas of the Longinus Gamma Facility, they will be safe from the Trygon. However, there are still plenty of Tyranid threats that await them as they navigate to the outside areas once more. After players do eventually make it out of part of the Longinus Gamma Facility, they will be in an outside area with a new task: Use Melta Charges to Eradicate the Tunnels.

Melta Charges can be found throughout this area, and they are Melta Bombs that replace the player’s grenade slot. Players do not need to worry about using too many Melta Bombs, as Servo-Skulls will always deliver Melta Bombs back to where they were originally found. With the Melta Bombs, players will need to find holes in the sand that is covered in smoke, as these are the Tyranid Tunnels that must be eradicated. All players need to do in order to eradicate the tunnels is activate a Melta Bomb from within the sand crater filled with smoke, and then repeat the process on the other tunnels to complete this objective and halt the Tyranids from spawning. With that objective done, it’s time to head deeper into the Longinus Gamma Facility.

How to Find the Power Cells & Restore Power

Once inside the darkened area of the Longinus Gamma Facility, players will be met with a room filled with technology, and now they must find Power Cells and restore power to this area. This is easily done by running around the area, whether it’s up the stairs or around corridors, as players are looking for a Power Cell that they can interact with to pick up and carry with a prompt. With the Power Cell equipped, players will be unable to parry, perform Melee Attacks, or use Abilities. Instead, players must defend themselves with their Primary Weapon. It’s advised to stick together in this segment, allowing one player to grab the Power Cell as the others keep said player alive.

With the Power Cell equipped, players must now run through the facility and search for the generators, noted by the electric coils that glow from above. Players are looking for the generators that are missing a Power Cell, which is seen from the fact that there is no blue energy circulating around the coils. Simply interacting with the generator with the Power Cell in hand will allow players to restore power and continue through the mission.

How to Disconnect & Extract the Brain

With power restored to the Longinus Gamma Facility, it’s now time to extract the brain. To begin, players will need to take the spiral stairs upwards, where they will find a glowing blue square that they must stand in. Players must stand within this point and defend it from enemies, waiting for the percentage bar to reach 100. With this task achieved, players are free to leave the area in order to extract the brain.

The brain is found beside a Servo-Skull and an Ammo Crate on the upper levels of the facility, and all players need to do to extract it is wait for the dialogue to finish from Magos Galeo. With the brain acquired, it’s now time to leave the facility, where players are heading back out onto the sands. It’s not over yet, as at the end of this path is a station for players to grab ammo, heatlh, grenades, and change their loadouts, for they are going to have to face off against the Trygon Prime.

How to Defeat the Trygon Prime

The Trygon Prime has a multitude of attacks that players will want to be aware of, but first, it’s best to explain how to actually fight this Tyranid boss. Trygon Prime is extremely fast and doesn’t stay on the surface for too long. As such, it’s best to use hard-hitting and low ammo weapons, like the Plasma Pistol, and other weapons like theInferno Pistoland Melta Rifle. Anything that hits hard is going to do wonders against the Trygon, for it doesn’t linger around long enough to warrant sustained and unending fire, and a Melee Weapon is a tad risky considering the Trygon is going to burrow into the ground quite often.

For the attacks themselves, the Trygon might commit to a few, and here’s what to look out for and how to counter them:

At around 50% health, the Trygon will remain underground, and a Tyranid Tunnel will spawn, meaning players must pick up a nearby Melta Bomb to destroy it, thus bringing the Trygon back into the fight. Once the Trygon is dead, the mission ends, and players canclaim their rewards.
