Amazon is themost popular Ascendancyavailable to the Huntress Class inPath of Exile 2. It is a hyper-offense-focused archetype that’s all about stacking critical hit chance and elemental damage to convert the Huntress into a moving artillery unit that devastates entire screens of enemies from a distance.
One of the most potent passives available to Amazons is called Elemental Infusion, which, when taken, gives the Huntress access to Infuse Weapon. While the in-game tooltips do explain what both of these skills do, there is a lot of background information players need to understand before they can get a handle on the full picture. Here is how it all comes together.
How to Get Infuse Weapon in PoE 2
Infuse Weapon is a passive skill available to theAmazon Ascendancy of the Huntress Classthrough the Elemental Infusion node. To get it, players will first need to complete a Trial of the Sekhemas or Trial of Chaos with the Huntress and choose theAmazon Ascendancy. Only 2 Ascendancy points are needed to obtain Elemental Infusion, which means completing a Trial at the lowest difficulty will allow you to obtain this Skill.
Infuse Weapon is a passive skill, which means players do not need to activate it through a Right-click or by pressing the skill button. It is always passively active in the background and only needs its activation requirements to be met in order to trigger. These requirements are detailed below.
There is no Skill Gem for the Infuse Weapon Skill, which means other classes cannot use this Skill.
How Does Infuse Weapon Work On Huntress in PoE 2
To understand what Infuse Weapon does, we can look at the description of Elemental Infusion, its parent node.
Elemental Infusion
Grants Skill: Infuse Weapon
When you Consume a Power Charge Trigger Infuse Weapon to gain 2 Cold Infusion
When you Consume an Endurance Charge Trigger Infuse Weapon to gain 2 Fire Infusion
When you Consume a Frenzy Charge Trigger Infuse Weapon to gain 2 Lightning Infusion
Then, Infuse Weapon’s description states:
Infuse Weapon
Grants your weapon Infusion. Non-Melee Projectile Attacks with that weapon Consume Infusions to Infuse the Projectiles fired, causing them to explode at the end of their flight.
It’s important to note that the Infuse Weapon skill itself does not—and cannot—consume Charges; it needs another Skill to Consume a charge in order to trigger and gain Infusions. The type of Infusion it gains depends on the type of Charge that was consumed.
How to Trigger Infuse Weapon
The sequence of events that needs to happen in order for Infuse Weapon to activate is as follows.
Infusions have a 15-second cooldownbefore they disappear, and you cannot have any more than 6 Infusions of the same type at any given time. This means, at most, you can have 6 Fire, 6 Cold, and 6 Lightning Infusions through Elemental Infusion at one time.
Huntress Skills To Trigger Infuse Weapon
Huntress has multiple Skillsthat not only consume Frenzy Charges but also fulfill the requirements of a non-melee projectile attack. They are:
All of the Skills listed above can be used to gain Infusions and trigger Infuse Weapon.
How to Generate Charges in PoE 2
For the purposes of using Infuse Weapon, players will want to specialize in one type of Charge generation. For Huntress, Frenzy Charges are the easiest to generate, and her kit is tailored towards Lightning Damage, which synergizes perfectly.
The fastest way for a Huntress to generate Frenzy Charges is throughCombat Frenzy, which is a node on the passive skill tree that grants you Frenzy Charges every time you Electrocute, Freeze, or Maim an enemy.Electrocute is the recommended optionas it scales with Lightning damage. Electrocute can easily be inflicted with the help ofKitoko’s CurrentUnique Gloves.
Alternatively, players going for a Freeze Huntress build can take theResonancenode in addition to Combat Frenzy to convert all their Frenzy Charges into Power Charges. This way, they can rely solely on cold damage to generate cold Infusions.
