A credibleleak by Tarthas revealed thatHonkai: Star RailVersion 3.3 will feature a free 4-star character selector as a reward. Per the leak, the selector will let players pick up a copy of either Misha, Hanya, Xueyi, or Gallagher, who is also one ofHonkai: Star Rail’s best 4-star characters. The selector is seemingly a reward from a limited event named “Legend of the Galactic Baseballer: Departure,” which would confirm the return of the battle event with the same name introduced during the Penacony cycle.Honkai: Star Railhas offered free 4-star unit selectors in previous updates, and both Gallagher and Hanya have already been featured in them. However, fans have complained about the lack of new 4-stars since Version 2.5.
Honkai: Star Rail Leak Reveals Free 4-Star Character Selector for Version 3.3
With the release of Castorice in Version 3.2, there are currently 45 5-star units inHonkai: Star Rail, including the four versions of the Trailblazer. Meanwhile, the number of 4-star characters is only 23. The last 4-star character added to the roster was Moze, who was drip-marketed in July 2024. The imbalance between the two tiers promptedHonkai: Star Railto alter its Standard Bannerby adding limited units, but fans have still criticized that having little variety in 4-stars isn’t too free-to-play-friendly.
The remaining Chrysos Heirs to become playable are all expected to be 5-stars. Anaxa is set to debut in the second half of Version 3.2, while Hyacine and Cypher will be featured inHonkai: Star Rail’s Version 3.3 banners. If no new 4-star character is announced during the next patch, it will mark a year sinceHonkai: Star Railadded a unit to this category.
