Genshin Impactsurprises the community by not creating one, but two explorable new sub-areas: Atocpan and Ancient Sacred Mountain. While the latter is located beneath the volcano in Atocpan, the map is extremely large, and players are excited to explore and uncover all the hidden secrets in this area, including the long-awaited new treasure chests.
The Ancient Sacred Mountain is not related to the Archon Quest, but it has a strong connection to thelittle Saurian companion that Travelers encounterwhen they first step into Natlan. After completing various quests related to the Little One, players will be able to unlock the quest that allows them to reach the Ancient Sacred Mountain.
1Defeat the Hidden Enemy
Go to thefarthest waypoint in Flame-Melding Ritual Groundsand indwell a nearby Tatankasaurus before breaking the Pulverite to the southeast. An enemy will appear and once you defeat it, you will get a Common Chest.
2Discover the Hidden Room
Now, teleport to thewaypoint in the middle of Flame-Melding Ritual Groundsand head east towards an open area with a single glowing block on the ground.Use a Tatankasaurus' slam attack to break the blockand uncover the hidden area underneath it. Continue using Tatankasaurus’s sprint towards all the Pulverites at the current level to find another glowing block on the ground. Break it and enter the lowest level to find the last chunk of Pulverites. Break it and you will find a treasure chest on top of aSecret Source Dragon Idol’s head.
3Reach the Floating Island
From the previous position, activate the Dragon Idol, and it will bring you to the top of the mountain in Flame-Melding Ritual Grounds. Indwell the Qucusaur andfly to the northuntil you see a floating island. In this island alone, there are three treasure chests to be collected.
4Dig the Qucusaur’s Nest
Use theteleport waypoint northeast of Flame-Melding Ritual Groundsand head further north towards the edge of the island to find Qucusaur’s nests.One of the nests has a ‘Dig’ option, and once you do so, a treasure chest will appear.

6Complete the Flowlight Targets Challenge
Next, teleport to thewaypoint northeast of Sea of Shifting Sentience, andhead westto the edge of the lava pool. You can find a Secret Source Servant on top of a waterwheel. In one of the slots, there is a Flowlight Target.Indwell a Koholasaurus and attack the target,causing it to break and triggering a hidden challenge. Continue breaking all the Flowlight Targets, and you will get an Exquisite Chest as a reward.

8Break the Phlogiston on the Wall
Teleport to theSea of Shifting Sentience southeast waypointand head southwest to indwell a Tatankasaurus. With the Saurian, trudge to the north to find a Phlogiston rock on the wall.Use the Tatankasaurus and ram through the wallto break it and spawn an enemy. Defeat it to get a hidden treasure chest.
9Win the Race
Go to thewaypoint right below the Heart of Force Inversion, and find a Secret Source Servant in the west. Interact with the servant to start a racing tournament with other Tatankasaurus. You can indwell a Tatankasaurus or use aplayable character from “Collective of Plenty"and get the first place to win a treasure chest.
10Activate the Waterwheel Mechanism
After completing the previous race, you will benear the waterwheel located on the east. In front of the waterwheel is a Phlogiston rock that can be destroyed temporarily using Tatankasaurus. Once you destroy it,the waterwheel will spin and reveal the hidden chest. Remember that it will only spin once and stop afterward. But don’t worry, because the Phlogiston rock will reappear again, so you can keep trying until you get the treasure chest.
