Hello Kitty Island Adventurehas received a major update—its first content drop since expanding beyond Apple platforms. The latest version of the game introduces new features, quests, and improvements, as well as anotherHello Kitty Island Adventurearea.
Developed by Colorado-based Sunblink Entertainment,Hello Kitty Island Adventurewas initially released in July 2023, debuting as anApple Arcade exclusive. The game was eventually ported to more platforms, launching on the Nintendo Switch and PC in late January 2025. However, its ports were missing some content from the Apple version, with Sunblink stating it would deliver feature parity at a later date.
Three months later, the developer is starting to make good on that promise, having just launched the first major update for thePC version ofHello Kitty Island Adventure. Released on April 29, the patch introduces improvements for several game systems, including gifting. Gifts now offer predictable friendship bonuses based on their heart rating: the more hearts a gift has, the greater its friendship boost. This new system thus makes it easier to befriend visitors quickly, while optimizing the use of crafting resources needed to make gifts.
The April 29 update also expandsthe pool ofHello Kitty Island Adventurevisitorswith the addition of Retsuko’s friends and co-workers, Pekkle and Keroppi’s buddies, and Hello Kitty’s grandparents. Another novelty arrives in the form of furniture stacking, which presently supports a decent assortment of options, like placing small items on tables. The update also tweaks the daily reward system, making it slightly more forgiving; friendship Island pick-ups will now accumulate for up to three days, allowing players to maintain more relaxed schedules without missing out on anything.
Another highlight from the update is a new location—Blizzard Peak and Snow Village—expanding theworld ofHello Kitty Island Adventurewith an icy area containing puzzles and rewards alike. The update also introduces new collectibles called Sparkles, which appear all around Friendship Island. They can be exchanged for game tickets, allowing players to repeatedly engage in mini-games with no delays. New furnishings are part of the package as well, together with the ability to call a friend and connect with them directly from the in-game tablet, among several other novelties.
The late April 2025 update is currently only available on Steam. The Nintendo Switch version ofHello Kitty Island Adventureis scheduled to receive the patch on May 22, according to a recent update posted to Sunblink’s Discord server. Moving forward,Hello Kitty Island Adventureis also planned to reach the PS4 and PS5 before the end of 2025, though its PlayStation versions are still waiting for a concrete release date.

Call Friend
Phone a friend (to join you!) – your tablet now has a ‘Call Friend’ function that lets you connect and companion together with Hello Kitty and Friends from anywhere on the Island.
New Visitors
Retsuko’s friends and co-workers are ready to visit Friendship Island for a well-deserved getaway! Pekkle and Keroppi have buddies and pals who will need cabins, too. And don’t forget to set up cabins for Hello Kitty’s Grandparents.
