Summary

Boruto: Two Blue Vortexis taking a very exciting new direction and fans are incredibly excited to see the plot heat up with the arrival of the Hitoshinju, known to be some of the most exciting antagonists in the series. With recent battles, if there’s one thingthat Ikemoto and Kishimoto have proven to the fans, it is that no character is safe in the story.

Borutojust delivered three big deaths in the story, and this has put the fans on the edge of their seats. All fans now know thatBoruto: Two Blue Vortexis going to see even bigger deaths later down the line. Curiously enough, the author of the series, Mikio Ikemoto, and the supervisor, Masashi Kishimoto, have had their say on the big deaths from the series a while back, and their comments hide quite a few surprises. Some big characters could’ve been killed off long ago in Boruto, which fans would definitely not have liked.

Ikemoto Reveals A Major Character Was Spared By Him In The Manga

When it comes to character deaths in Boruto, fans know that neither of the authors wants them to feel safe. Any and every character can and will be at threat in this story, as was proven by Yodo’s recent death in Two Blue Vortex. That said, some characters have had luck on their side in Boruto, as they most certainly would’ve died in the story.

I’ll send you to the same place I sent the Seventh, Boruto. — Kawaki

According to Ikemoto, the plot ofBorutois ever-changing, and he is the biggest pioneer of change due to the latest developments in the story. There are things that Kishimoto had already pointed out in his drafts that Ikemoto initially agreed with, but given the flow of the story, ended up changing. According to Ikemoto, this led to some characters being spared. Here’s what Ikemoto had to say:

“Things don’t always go as planned. Small changes have often been made right from the beginning. But little by little, the story develops in a direction that’s different from Kishimoto-sensei’s outline. Various factors can explain this. But the biggest reason is that I needed to create for myself a new outcome for the shonen part and a concept for the seinen part.

Once that was decided, Ada and Demon were born. Kashin Koji’s role was renewed, and Amado’s escape to Konoha followed. Moreover, Code should’ve died a long time ago. To be honest, an even more important character’s life was also spared. Even if the initial idea is to make the manga even more engaging, we are far removed from what was originally planned. Currently, I’m in the situation of developing the story on my own. So I think the biggest challenge in the production of Boruto, including for Kishimoto sensei who gives me his approval, is to continue to handle successive unforeseen changes.”

Could Naruto Have Been Killed Off By Kishimoto In Boruto?

The Chances of Naruto’s Death Are Huge

When considering the works of Mikio Ikemoto, there’s only one thing that fans can think of.The death of Naruto Uzumaki. According to Ikemoto, Code could’ve been killed off long ago, but due to the story evolving, he is still alive. He then goes on to say that even more important characters than Code ended up being spared.

Don’t join me too soon, Naruto. — Kurama to Naruto Uzumaki after his death.

Given that Code is the main antagonist, especially after Isshikiin Part 1 of theBorutoseries, few could be considered more important than him. Boruto and Kawaki are more important for sure, but fans know that the prologue already confirmed that they both lived. The only other important characters in Boruto who were bigger than Code were Naruto and Sasuke.

Based on Ikemoto’s words, Naruto and Sasuke, or maybe one of them, were marked by Kishimoto for death. Thankfully, Ikemoto decided to not go ahead with that and made changes to the plot accordingly. The death of these characters would’ve been crushing forBorutoas it would’ve lost all its popularity, and faced tremendous criticism.
