April 17 Marks 500 Days Since GTA 6’s First Trailer

Grand Theft Auto 5continues to break recordsover a decade since its release, but there are plenty of fans who are tired of the title and are eager to see more from the series' next instalment,Grand Theft Auto 6. Sadly, it has now officially been 500 days since the game’s first trailer, which is the only piece of media fans have for the upcoming title. After releasing the first trailer on July 14, 2025, Rockstar Games has not provided fans with any screenshots, news, details, or, most importantly, a second trailer. Fans continue to speculate about when the studio will provide more information on the title, but currently, there is no indication of how many more days it will be until a second trailer is released.

It may have been 500 days since the first trailer was released, but it could still be another few months untilmarketing forGrand Theft Auto 6finally kicks off. During a recent interview, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick discussed the anticipation for Rockstar Games' upcoming title and the constant secrecy. Zelnick explained that the anticipation forGrand Theft Auto 6is the greatest he’s ever seen for an entertainment property. Due to the unprecedented levels of hype, Zelnick said the company wants to “maintain the anticipation and excitement.” The CEO then explained that Take-Two has found the best approach is to “provide marketing materials relatively close to the release window,” which suggests that more details onGrand Theft Auto 6may not be revealed until closer to the Fall.

With a Fall 2025 release window constantly being reaffirmed by Rockstar Games' parent company, Take-Two Interactive,Grand Theft Auto 6could be in the hands of gamers in just five to eight months. The studio has yet to set a firm release date outside of Fall 2025, but fans do believe they’venarrowed downGrand Theft Auto 6’s release datewith a little help fromBorderlands 4. Although different studios develop both titles, Rockstar Games and Gearbox Software are both owned by Take-Two Interactive. AsBorderlands 4is officially launching on September 23, many believe this rules out the month for aGrand Theft Auto 6release.
