Summary
Genshin Impacthas revealed a new Chronicled Banner for Version 5.6, this time giving players a chance to obtain their favorite 5-Star character from Inazuma. With almost a hundred playable characters, it’s fair to say thatGenshin Impacthas a bit of a banner problem. It’s become impossible for the developers to schedule Event Banners in a balanced way, leaving many older characters sidelined. From Eula and Shenhe to Kokomi and Cyno, this issue has ultimately forced HoYoverse to adopt the Chronicled Banner as a solution.
While players haven’t immediately warmed up to theChronicled Banner inGenshin Impact, its biggest issue remains its lack of a consistent schedule. The first Chronicled Banner launched in Version 4.5, and its second iteration saw its debut in Version 5.3. Though the gap between the Chronicled Banner for Liyue and Inazuma will be short, it remains to be seen how these banners will rotate on a yearly basis – especially with the potential of a Sumeru version coming in the future.
The Inazuma Chronicled Banner was revealed by HoYoverse during the developer livestream for Version 5.6, but it was shared on the game’s subreddit by Bisentinel, who is a regular contributor to theGenshin Impactcommunity. Curiously, the Inazuma Chronicled Banner is missing Yumemizuki Mizuki, thelatest Standard character inGenshin Impact. This means that players will be able to lose their 50:50 exclusively to Limited characters such as Chiori, Itto, and Kokomi.
Kokomi– 5-Star Hydro Catalyst
Kazuha– 5-Star Anemo Sword
Pity carries over from previous Chronicled Banners, and as before,Genshin Impactplayers can select a 5-Star character or 5-Star weapon of their choice. Apart from Kokomi’s Everlasting Moonglow, the selection of Signature Weapons is decently stacked – Uraki Misugiri, Mistsplitter Reforged, Redhorn Stonetresher, and Thundering Pulse all have great value. However, players should bear in mind that they will need at least 180 pulls to fullyguarantee a 5-Star inGenshin Impacton the Chronicled Banner.
In addition to the Chronicled Banner, Version 5.6 will also feature Escoffier, Navia, Kinich, and Raiden. Escoffier and Navia will headline the first half of the update, while Kinich and Raiden will be paired up on the Event Banners in the second half. Given that Version 5.6 will take playersback to Mondstadt inGenshin Impact, there is a chance that a Mondstadt Chronicled Banner will return in the near future. However, it remains to be seen what HoYoverse will do with Sumeru characters such as Cyno, who hasn’t been featured in thirteen updates. Version 5.6 is set to come out on May 7.
