Stranger Thingsis set to return for its final season. One of the lead stars hinted about their character’s ending.

Netflix’sStranger Thingsis a hit sci-fi series by the Duffer Brothers. It debuted in 2016 and will return for its final season later this year. The show stars Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven), Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler), Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson), Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair), and Noah Schnapp (Will Byers), to name a few. They were only around 11 to 13 when they started filming the show. All are now in their 20s. One of them spoke about their character’s ending in a recent interview.

Wolfhard chatted withPeopleabout the anticipatedStranger ThingsSeason 5. According to him, ending the series was like a “dream.” He spent his entire adolescence with the show, so it “was definitely a lot” to end it. “None of it felt real. I don’t know, it felt perfect,” he said. Aside from talking about completing the show, Wolfhard also hinted about Mike’s ending in the finale. He has mixed feelings about it. However, he said he was “satisfied” overall. He said:

I was so happy with his ending, and I don’t know, I was satisfied, but I was also very confused and sad, but also very happy.

Netflix has kept the plot forStranger ThingsSeason 5 under wraps. However, it will likely feature the Hawkins kids against Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower). Wolfhard admitted that he found it unbelievable after they wrapped up filming. In fact, he couldn’t focus until the following day due to an “emotional hangover.” Despite that, it reportedly ended well. He had a great experience and had nothing but positive words to say about his co-stars whom he had worked with for nearly a decade. Everyone seemed to feel the same way because the cast members decided to have a get-together after filming the finale. “The cast all stayed for the last day, we were all there together. It was really great to be around each other,” Wolfhard shared.

Saying Goodbye Is Always Bittersweet But Finn Wolfhard Seems Ready To Move On

It remains unclear how things will end for Mike. However, fans hope that the show will address his relationship with Will. There are speculations that the two are more than friends due to their deep connection throughout the series. Many also notice that they are the closest in the group. Schnapp teased that their relationship “had its ups and downs.” However, he reaffirmed that “Mike and Will were a pair,” just like Lucas and Dustin.

Wolfhard’s mixed emotions about Mike’s ending were probably heightened because Season 5 would be the show’s last run. It could also hint that Mike would play a significant role in the finale, or his character might have undergone significant personal growth. The show could also take a surprising turn, such as killing Mike. He is one of the original core characters, and losing him would surely leave a deep emotional impact on fans.

Mike is the heart of the group; he is very close to Eleven and Will. He could make a heroic sacrifice to save any of them. Saving Eleven would give his character a meaningful and full-circle moment because the show began with him beingEleven’s protector. Mike represents love, loyalty, and courage, so a sacrificial ending would leave the viewers feeling all kinds of emotions. It’s a good thing fans will soon find out Mike’s ending in the finale.
