Alongside new main story quests and the next set of Arcadion raid battles,the 7.2 update brought some quality-of-life changes toFinal Fantasy 14for players to utilize. A new “Jog” function allows players to keep some movement speed after using Sprint in sanctuaries and cities, and players may now summon their mounts while moving. Patch 7.2 also made some Job balance changes, with the Black Mage and the Pictomancer receiving more changes than their counterparts.

With April having already begun,Final Fantasy 14players will soon have a short and charming event to participate in.According to Square Enix, the Hatching-Tide event will start on Wednesday, April 9, and conclude on Thursday, April 24, giving players just over two weeks to enjoy the festivities. The key artwork for this year’s Hatching-Tide featuresA Realm Reborncharacters Yda and Paplymo, much like how Little Ladies' Day put Thancred in the spotlight. Though the 2024 version of Hatching-Tide was combined withthe Little Ladies' Day event, the two holidays have once again been separated in 2025.

Final Fantasy 14 Hatching-Tide Event Arrives On April 8

This year’s Hatching-Tide will take place in the forest city of Gridania, at Mih Khetto’s Amphitheatre. A quest from Jihli Aliapoh called “In Pursuit of Eggcelence” will be available forFinal Fantasy 14players at level 15 or higher, meaning Free Trial accounts can participate as well. Like similar holiday quests, players can expect a short but charming story to go alongside the egg-themed experience.

After completing the Hatching-Tide quests, players will be rewarded with the Archon Egg Parasol, a fashion accessory that can be summoned in cities. Fashion accessories are considered collectibles, similar to mounts and minions, with more added in each content patch.Past Hatching-Tide rewards like the Peatie mountare currently available for purchase on theFinal Fantasy 14Online Store, though the holiday may offer additional limited-time discounts.
