A short snippet of this stream showing the apparent traffic violation has been shared on Twitter by Dexerto, and reactions have been overwhelmingly negative. “That’s not quirky, that’s just wildly illegal and dangerous,” one highly-rated comment reads.
ExtraEmily’s Twitch-Streamed Traffic Violation Draws Negative Attention
ExtraEmily appeared to be alone in the vehicle at the time and was using a hands-free mount for her phone, but she was repeatedly switching between showing her face and the road in front of her. She had switched to the road view seconds before the traffic light changed and stopped almost immediately after at a second traffic light before switching the camera back to her face and declaring, “O.K., no problem. That happens all the time.” She then complained that traffic lights in Austin are “really long, so usually I just go past.” In September 2023, another stream sawExtraEmily get into a fender bender, though in that incident, she was stopped at a red light when another driver’s vehicle struck her car’s rear end.
Those aren’t the only documented traffic incidents involving the streamer that have appeared on her Twitch channel. During a trip to New York City in July 2024,ExtraEmily hit a stationary police carwhile operating a rental bicycle while in the process of passing another bicyclist to her right.
