Now that the books are out,Dungeons and Dragonshas officially released its first batch of errata for them. Akin to a video game update or patch for the text found in the books, thePlayer’s Handbookreceived a slew of changes, including clarity adjustments to several feats and the Rules Glossary. The Creature Statblocks in Appendix B have been replaced with their newMonster Manualcounterparts, and severalspells in the new D&DPlayer’s Handbookhave been updated, including nerfs to several Conjure spells and a fix to the temporary hit point abuse previously capable with Polymorph spells. TheDungeon Master’s Guide, on the other hand, did not get much, with only a small adjustment to chasing rules and a typo fix on the Random Treasure Hoard table.

The newDungeons and DragonsMonster Manualchanges consisted of fixes to various stat blocks found within. While some were simple wording and clarity adjustments, some had their Spellcasting features expanded to allow each spell to be used individually each day, while others had their statistics raised or lowered. Players can expect Ancient White Dragons with higher Charisma scores, Balors with fewer Hit Points, and Arcanaloths with a higher AC in their adventures from now on, among various other adjustments.

All of these changes have already been applied to digital sources like D&D Beyond and will be reflected in thenewDungeons and DragonsSRD 5.2 when it releases on April 22. These changes have also been made in recent printings of the core rulebooks and will be implemented in all future copies as well.

When and if future errata happen, it will go live in a similar fashion, with new versions of the SRD 5.2 added with each one. What’s more, players can expect the return of the Sage Advice Compendium – a collection of answers to frequently-asked questions on rules interactions submitted by the community – some time in the near future.
