The return of the nightly water show “World of Color” at Disney California Adventure had previously been announced, but Disney has released new information on the show, which will be called “World of Color Happiness!” The show will focus on exploring “happiness” and will feature characters from Pixar’sInside OutandInside Out 2,as well as showcasing characters from several other beloved Pixar franchises. For the first time, the show will also feature interactive elements, encouraging guests to sing along to classic Disney songs and, prior to the evening’s showtime, guests can vote on the Disneyland app to see one of the emotions fromInside Outin special scenes throughout that day’s show.
Disneyland Brings Surprise Immersive Elements to Anniversary Experiences
Continuing the interactive experience, the MagicBand+ will allow guests to discover brand-new surprises throughout each land in Disneyland Park. Each location will unlock special interactions and effects “inspired by opening day attractions, adding a little more nostalgia to your celebration,” according to the announcement on the Disney Parks Blog. Taking the magic beyond the lands, several of theanniversary experiences and attractionswill also interact with the MagicBand+, including “Paint the Night,” “Tapestry of Happiness,” “Word of Color Happiness!,” and “Wondrous Journeys,” with things like synchronized vibrations, light effects, and more. There will also be a limited-time commemorative 70th anniversary MagicBand+ available for purchase. For guests looking for something even more immersive and unique, Disneyland is offering “A Story of Celebration: 70th Anniversary Guided Tour,” a two-hour walking tour that will take guests through Disneyland Park, explaining the history behind the resort, including opening day attractions, Walt’s vision for the park, how it has evolved over the last seven decades, and some of the newest additions to Disney’s first theme park. Bookings will open on April 24 on the Disneyland website.
