Summary
Blizzard revealed all the details surrounding its upcoming crossover withBerserkand what free and premiumDiablo 4players can expect. There’s a lot of anticipation within theDiablo 4community as Season 8 rapidly approaches, promising new content and changes coming to the popular title.
Following the move to live service,Diablo 4has continued to pump out new content and updates, from seasons, a well-received expansion, battle passes, and even limited-time events. In an effort to keep players invested long-term,Blizzard also recently put out aDiablo 4roadmap, which didn’t quite hit the way the studio likely anticipated. While Blizzard continued to tease more content not listed on the roadmap, fans noticed thatDiablo 4was planning to crossover with new IPs and the first is rapidly approaching.
After announcing theBerserkcrossover withDiablo 4last week, Blizzard has finally revealed what the event entails. From a gameplay perspective, players can earn “ovoid creatures” known as Behelits, which have a chance to drop after slaying elite enemies. The Behelits can then be traded at a Berserk Reliquary to claim items like the Hawks Destiny Back Trophy, Skull KNight’s Heraldry Mount Armor, the Brand of Sacrifice Marking, and more. Once players have claimed all items, the Od of the Berserker Emblem will then be earned.
Diablo 4’s Berserk Crossover Adds New Armor Sets
However, for those who want a little more, Blizzard is adding special armor sets to the in-game shop, representing major characters from the manga. Starting on May 6 and running through to the end ofDiablo 4’s Season 8: Belial’s Return, the in-game shop will have special Berserk armor for sale, including the Barbarian’s Berserker Armor, the Hawk of Light and Struggler armor sets for the Rogue, and the Skull Knight for Necromancers. A pet bundle featuring The Schnoz and Warhorse of the Hawk mount armor will also be available, though no prices were announced for any of these bundles.
In addition to the Berserk collaboration, Season 8 appears to be making major changes to the core experience in general. Not only will Blizzard be nerfing builds it considers to be overpowered, but the battle pass system is also getting an overhaul, allowing players to claim rewards in any order they want, using Favor Tokens or Platinum to unlock bundles or additional Reliquaries once the free one has been completed. Overall, Blizzard is looking to shift its focus toprioritize permanent improvements forDiablo 4instead of on seasonal ones that are removed later.
