A brand-new commemorative logo and video have revealed the commencement of the 30th anniversary celebrations of the anime adaptation of Gōshō Aoyama’sDetective Conan (Case Closed). TheDetective Conan30 YEAR PROJECT is set to begin in January 2026, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of the anime, which began airing in January 1996.
More in-depth details of the anniversary plans will be revealed at a later date on the official website. The number 30 has been very important to Aoyama-sensei in recent times, withthe currently airingYAIBA: Samurai Legendanime by WIT Studio being itself a reboot airing just over 30 years after the original anime adaptation of his 1988 manga.

The new logo created for the 30th anniversary of the Detective Conan (Case Closed) anime features the series protagonist Shinichi Kudō (or rather, Conan Edogawa), with a hand and a knee on the floor as he holds up a magnifying glass with a proud smile on his face. The glass part of the tool is the 0 in the “30”. The special video runs for just over three minutes and features various moments from the series as the 30 YEAR PROJECT logo comes into view.

A Historic Anime and Manga Title
Gōshō Aoyama’sCase Closedhas been serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shōnen Sunday since January 1994, and has since been collected into 106 volumes to date,making it one of the longest-running manga in history. The story follows 17-year-old Shinichi Kudō, a brilliant teenage detective who has helped the police solve all kinds of cases, but one day finds himself embroiled in a major conspiracy when he overhears members of a crime syndicate known as the Black Organization and is force-fed an experimental drug in order to kill him.
The drug instead reverts him to the physical state of an eight-year-old, after which he dons the alias Conan Edogawa, hides his true identity and moves into the home ofhis childhood friend, Ran Mori, daughter of private detective Kogoro Mori. As Conan, Shinichi tags along Kogoro’s various cases and ultimately solves them with the help of his father figure Dr Agatha, while also secretly trying to dig up more information on the organization that tried to have him killed. VIZ Media has licensed an English release of the manga under the title “Case Closed”. TheDetective Conan (Case Closed)anime began airing in January 1996 andspawned a host of theatrical releases, the first of which was released in 1997.
