Destiny 2: Keen Thistle PvE God Roll

While this is a Trials of Osiris weapon, Keen Thistle has a couple of decent perk combinations for PvE to use for boss DPS or tankier targets during add-clear. It’s a great option if you need a sniper in the Energy slot to run instead of Succession or Critical Anomaly.

Handling

Keen Thistle has a go-to DPS optionwidely used on Heavy weapons: Envious Arsenal with Bait and Switch.Envious Arsenalreloads the gun when you deal damage with the other two weapons, andBait and Switchgrants a 30% damage buff when dealing damage with all three weapons within a short time, perfectly synergizing with each other.

Similarly to The Supremacy and Praedyth’s Revenge, Keen Thistle can also roll double ammo perks.Triple Tappaired withFourth Time’s the Charmwill continuously feed ammo back to the mag. However, Keen Thistle isn’t a Rapid-Fire Frame sniper rifle, so thebase DPS is lower. Other notable perks include Incandescent to create Solar explosions in the third column and Vorpal Weapon for a 15% damage increase in the fourth.

Destiny 2: Keen Thistle PvP God Roll

Aggressive Frame snipersaren’t as popular in PvP as Adaptive Frames, but Keen Thistle does have a couple of perks for you to try out in Shaxx’s playground.

Closing Time / Opening Shot / Moving Target

Range

In the third column,Snapshot Sightsis the only viable option for increased aim down sight speed. Lone Wolf is a decent alternative, but lower ADS speed means that you won’t be able to react as quickly to threats.

With Accurized Rounds, a range Masterwork, and a Ballistics mod (or even an Adept range mod), you’re already hitting maximum range on Keen Thistle, so the perk in the fourth column depends on what else you need from this weapon.Opening ShotandMoving Targetgrant 10 aim assist, with Opening Shot being a better choice, especially if you’re below maximum range. Another great perk is Closing Time. Even with theClosing Timenerfs on special weapons, it’s still a top-tier choice for Keen Thistle to get extra handling.

How to Get Keen Thistle in Destiny 2

Keen Thistledrops from Trials of Osiris, a PvP mode available only during the weekends (and when there’s no Iron Banner).Similarly to Nightfalls, Trials of Osiris has a featured weapon rotation.

When Keen Thistle is a featured weapon, you can go to the Lighthouse to get an Adept variant. Base versions are available regardless of the featured weapon, but the rewards are heavily skewed towards the featured one. After you get one copy of Keen Thistle, you can focus Trials Engrams at Saint-14 in the Tower to get more.
