Bungie reveals the Event Home feature forDestiny 2, which is set to debut alongside a big sandbox update that also brings a new Crucible game mode called Heavy Metal. Although the Episode Heresy story has since come to a close, Bungie has more things planned to keepDestiny 2players invested until the arrival of the anticipated Codename Frontiers evolution sometime this summer.
With the episodic content slowly coming to a close and Bungie not yet ready to show off the next evolution ofDestiny 2, the studio is aiming to keep fans busy with new content and experiences over the next month or so. Part of that is a new activity called Rite of the Nine, which remixes dungeon content to give players a different experience and rewards to earn. Themode itself accidentally launched early inDestiny 2, in a very unfinished state alongside work-in-progress weapons. In a newblog post, Bungie highlighted the first of what appears to be many sandbox changes coming over the next few months.
With the next sandbox update, Bungie is looking to streamlineDestiny 2Events, making them easier for players to not only find, but to centralize everything under one page. Essentially, this new feature will replace the previousDestiny 2feature known as Event Cards, which commonly appeared alongside major ones like Festival of the Lost, Solstice, or Guardian Games. To celebrate the arrival of Heavy Metal to the Crucible, Bungie is also launching Event Home for the first time.
Destiny 2 Event Home Details
Instead of having to check multiple locations in the game, Event Home captures everything together. For the newDestiny 2Crucible mode called Heavy Metal, players will find a short description of the event, the Event Rank and 15 rank reward track, as well as Daily and Weekly challenges that can or have been completed. Bungie indicates that Daily challenges can be completed in shorter sessions, while Weekly ones will likely require multiple play sessions. Players will also unlock Event Tokens to use within an in-game shop featuring weapons, materials and a Reroll Chip, allowing players to change one of their daily challenges if they want.
Bungie finishes the news by teasing more changes coming withDestiny 2: The Edge of Fate, indicating that Event Home is part of the “many, many changes” that will be coming to shake up the game and continue to evolve it in the coming years.
