When it’s time to face the Hive inDestiny 2, it’s always a good idea to bring a sword. Luckily, Episode: Heresy knows just what players want, which is why this Hive Episode ofDestiny 2features Abyssal Edge, a Strand Power Sword that provides players with intense power and immense rolls for a multitude of iconic builds.
Abyssal Edge can really change the way players experienceDestiny 2’s endgame content, especially with the Abyssal Edge God Roll that’s capable of turning Titans into immovable tanks that refuse to back down, so here’s how to get Abyssal Edge and the God Rollplayers are looking for.
How to Get Abyssal Edge in Destiny 2
Abyssal Edge can be obtained at random through Episode: Heresy Activities. This means that players will need to load into the Court of Blades or The Nether in order to progress through encounters in the hopes that Abyssal Edge will drop at random, or through the final encounter chest. This same principle applies to Abyssal Edge (Adept), which can only be obtained through Court of Blades (Expert) andThe Nether (Expert).
If players are struggling with the random loot drops, then they caninfluence Abyssal Edge drops through the Tome of Want, found in the Inventory screen. Within the Tome of Want, players can activate the following to increase their chance of receiving specified rewards by completing activities, defeating powerful combatants in Episode activities, and defeating other Guardians:
This might cost 100 Sigil Shards and around 5 Essence of Desire, but these materials are easily farmed in Episode activities anyway, so players will always have a decent supply of them so that they can try and get their perfect roll of Abyssal Edge.
Perk Two
Redirection
Abyssal Edge is a must-have in Episode: Heresy for those who enjoy Swords, thanks to the potential perk rolls. Players arestrictly looking for Flash Counter in the Perk 1 slot, as Flash Counter will act as the most mobile defensive option possible. Flash Counter blocks damage by raising your guard, and emits a short-range blast to disorientate enemies, which deals elemental damage. Paired with the Titan’s Arm Exotic of Stronghold, players have a real doozy of a roll that will see them clear Grandmaster Nightfalls with nothing but a sword to wield, as enemies cannot break the guard.
For Perk 2, Redirection is arguably the best option. With Redirection, hits with the sword against minor combatants will provide 2 Stacks of Redirection at a maximum of 30 stacks. If players hit elite or higher-ranked enemies, it will consume 2 Stacks of Redirection to grant 33% increased damage per Stack consumed, which is an immense power upgrade.
