Summary
Bosch: Legacy’s penultimate episode in the final season sees Harry Bosch tracking down Finbar McShane in Mexico, after dealing with the conspiracy to murder Jimmy Robertson. Elsewhere, Vasquez deals with the aftermath of Albert’s arrest and the impact on her family, and gets involved in an unfortunate bar fight with Maddie Bosch.
Chandler is keen to seek the death penalty for Humberto Zarrillo, after he is detained, thanks to the tracker put on his car by Jack Garrity, who is trying to leverage a deal after Bosch uncovered his role in Robertson’s murder. The episode was written byBosch: Legacyshowrunner, Tom Bernardo, and directed by Adam Davidson.A lot of loose ends were tied up, but there is plenty more left open, ahead of the final episode, which sees Maggie Q making her long-awaited debut as Renee Ballard.

Bosch: Legacy’s penultimate episode begins with Humberto Zorrillo breaking into Jack Garrity’s house, but the place is in total darkness, and nobody is home. Zarrillo stubs a cigarette out on the table and leaves. Turns out, Garrity is hiding out at a neighbor’s house, and he returns when the coast is clear. However,Harry Boschis waiting for him when he returns and holds a gun to his head:
You have to answer for Jimmy Robertson.
Bosch tells Garrity he thinks he had Robertson assassinated because he figured out what was going on with United Chemical andThe Black Icedrugs. Garrity wants to strike a deal with DAHoney Chandler, but Bosch tells him he will have to give up Zarrillo first. Later on, Bosch hands Garrity over to Chandler and the cop on the case. During questioning, Garrity reveals that Zarrillo was the one who actually shot Robertson, and Diego Para was a scapegoat. Garrity demands witness protection and immunity, but the police tell him it’s far too early to make demands like that. However,Garrity has leverage because he knows Zarrillo’s location due to a tracker placed on his car, and also has his DNA from the cigarette he left at his home.Elsewhere, Vasquez talks to Albert in his jail cell and tries to convince him to co-operate to get a deal, and she pays an awkward visit to her family, who are devastated. Later on, Vasquez and Maddie go to the Cocktail Lounge bar to blow off some steam, but they end up in a brutal bar fight.
AtHarry Bosch’s apartment, he prepares for the mission to track down Finbar McShane, with the help of Ken Gerbizs and Maurice ‘Mo’ Bassi. Maddie interrupts the meeting and quizzes her father about what exactly is going on, and begs him to bring McShane back alive and hand him over to be prosecuted. He refuses to make any promises. Chandler discusses the Zarillo case with the police chief, and thinks it would send a strong message to seek the death penalty. Elsewhere, Patrick Currey gets into a predicament when his lover has a bad reaction to some drugs. However, Currey gets out of trouble when he is handed Chandler’s deepest, darkest secrets as leverage against her. Soon after, Chandler discovers the US Attorney is taking over the case with a DEA joint task force, but she is informed that she did right byJimmy Robertson, but she fears the LAPD have no faith in the DA’s office.

What Happens In Mexico In The Penultimate Episode Of Bosch: Legacy Season 3?
Bosch, Mo and Gerbizs arrive in Mexico to track down McShane. DEA Agent Charlie Hovan calls Bosch to tell him that Zarrillo has been arrested, which comes as a huge relief. The focus shifts to the manhunt for McShane and a young boy gives the team the clues that lead to McShane’s location. Gerbizs and Bosch knock him out and head for the border. McShane tries to bribe them by saying he has lots of money to pay them off, but Bosch tells him he’ll have to save his bargaining for the Da. McShane taunts Bosch about his relationship with Siobhan, and the ex-LAPD detective breaks his nose.
Federal police await at the border, which leaves Bosch and Gerbizs with a dilemma. They drag him out of the car, and McShane taunts them about how he killed the children, which prompts Bosch to hold a knife to his throat. McShane is pushing them even further, until Gerbizs shoots him in the head.The episode ends with Bosch back at home, and he calls Siobhan to tell her the case is over. However, he leaves the details out, and tells her to look him up if she’s ever in Los Angeles again. Maddie asks Bosch what happened In Mexico and he tells her McShane is dead, but not by his hand.
