However, Bosch wants to see the new files before he shares the old ones. Fair trade, right?
Ballard visits her boss, Rick Seals, and he tells her to set up a meeting with Bosch to exchange murder books but then serve him with a search warrant. However, Chandler gets wind of the warrant and warns Bosch, who turns up to the meeting with Ballard empty-handed. Bosch says he’ll work the case with or without her, so it makes more sense to team up.Ballard turns up atBosch’s apartmentwith the murder books, and they get to work. The new victim is linked to the sex trade in Filipino town, and the killer dumped the body out in the open, and the police have no fingerprints or DNA to link anyone to the crime. Bosch thinks the perpetrator could be a cop, but Ballard isn’t convinced. When Ballard leaves, she puts a tracker on Bosch’s car, so she can keep an eye on him if he chooses to go rogue. Bosch and Mo search the internet for sex sites for Filipino girls, and they hatch a plan to organize a fake date to snare the killer. However, Ballard turns up to put a stop to it, and insists there are legal ways to do it. However, Mo argues that the killer is very smart because he has an anonymous VPN browser, making it difficult to track him.
It’s my case and I will solve it.
Maddie takes a look at the case files to see if she can make some headway, as Bosch insists he made a promise to these girls to see the case through to the end.

Bosch asks her if there’s anything off about him, but she insists he seems normal.Crate and Barrel, join Bosch and Mo to investigate McKee, and tail him.Bosch tells Ballard they have identified a suspect, and the RHD detective then reveals they do actually have DNA from saliva found on the victim’s neck.Turns out, Seals wanted to hold back that information from Bosch, who isn’t happy about it. Maddie and Vasquez track down Jeremy McKee and pull him over, and obtain his DNA using a breathalizer. Bosch and Ballard run it by Chandler, but she thinks the case isn’t quite there yet. Elsewhere, Mo breaks into McKee’s house to snoop, but while Ballard isn’t happy with this approach, she makes no attempt to stop him as time is running out for a new potential victim. Mo traces McKee to an address and Bosch and Ballard turn up to find a woman with duct tape around her mouth, and McKee ready to strike. Bosch dives on McKee, and puts the cuffs on him.
