In a recent interview withTV Insider, he said:
One day, after a scene, I said, ‘I feel like a cop again. I feel like Harry is doing that work again,’ and that prompted the discussion of, ‘Let’s get Harry back on the job.'
Bosch: Legacy’s showrunners, Eric Overmyer and Tom Bernardo, were clearly expecting another season, with plenty more Harry Bosch-focused stories to tell.The plan was to continue down the route featured inMichael Connelly’s books:

Michael Connelly’s books have always provided the perfect road map forBoschandBosch: Legacy, with each season being loosely based on two books each. There are plenty more books to adapt, and it makes sense that Bosch: Legacy’s fourth season would have done the same.Harry Bosch worked on cold cases for the San Fernando Police Department in Connelly’s books, so this was the perfect next step for the character inBosch: Legacy,while also assisting Renee Ballard with theLibrary of Lost Soulsin her own spin-off series.

A Potential Bosch: Legacy Movie Could Use The Ideas Initially Planned For A Fourth Season
Amazon’s planned flower parade to bid farewell to Harry Bosch was sabotaged by some strong SaveBosch: Legacygale force winds, which has seen the official final season narrative debunked. Instead of gushing over how wonderful Amazon is, and praising them forcancelingBosch: Legacy,Titus Welliver has been backing the petition and talking about the plans the creative team had for another season.Now that these plans are in the public domain, and Amazon is facing a huge backlash from their paying customers, a movie version could be the next logical step. Welliver told TV Insider:
There’s always a distinct possibility, like they’ve done withJack RyanandReacher, [for] spin-off feature-length films. So is there a possibility of life for that character? I think so.
Bosch: Legacy’s marketing campaignhas been heavily focused on it being the final season, so Amazon would risk losing face if they gave the go-ahead for another season, which meansa movie version might be the best option.Another factor for Amazon to consider is the fact that continuing Harry Bosch’s solo stories under theBosch: Legacyname would mean they have to pay the cast and crew more money as it would be classed as a continuing show.Amazon does not like parting with money if they can help it, so aBosch: Legacymoviewould be the perfect opportunity for them to reset all the contracts,while seeming like they are doing the right thing for the cast and crew as well as the fans. A nice little PR campaign to regain trust, and an end to the dissenting voices. Welliver finished his interview with TV Insider with this hopeful statement:
I think anything’s possible. I know that everyone involved in the show would immediately raise their hand and say, ‘When and where?.'
