When Will the Boruto Anime Return?
No Confirmed Date Yet, But It Will Likely Not Return This Year
While it seems the anime’s return has been confirmed, no release date has been given to the fans yet, and a release window isn’t clear either. That’s unfortunate for fans as, despite 2 years of wait, they still don’t know when the series is returning.
It’s unclear if production has started, but it is highly likely that it hasn’t. It is highly likelythat theBorutoanimewill take some time to return. Even if an announcement is made this year, which hasn’t been the case so far, the anime is definitely not going to be out anytime soon. Fans should definitely tune in for more information from Studio Pierrot on the matter, but at the very least, fans should work under the assumption that it won’t be back before 2026.
Why Did The Boruto Anime Go On a Hiatus?
There are probably many reasonsthat led to the Boruto anime going on hiatus. Based on what animators have said, it could be in large parts due to its massive filler episode count, which didn’t make it very interesting for animators to work on.
However, filler episodes are almost inevitable for a weekly anime. That said, it could definitely be toned down. Many fansare hoping for the Boruto animeto become seasonal instead of weekly, which would solve the issue, but no such thing has been announced yet, so fans will have to wait.
