Though most things reset between runs inBlue Prince, permanent upgrades do not, and will remain active throughout all future runs once unlocked. In total, there are four major permanent additions inBlue Prince, and several minor permanent upgrades that players can acquireas they build out the Mt. Holly Estate.
The West Path, Apple Orchard, Gemstone Cavern, and Blackbridge Grotto all offer useful bonuses or mechanics that players should attempt to unlock quickly. This guide explains what each of these foursecret permanent upgrades inBlue Princedo, how to unlock them, and lists some other sources of permanent upgradesBlue Princeplayers should look out for.
The West Path & Outer Room
Unlock The West Gate
Leave through the front door of the Estate to enter the Grounds, then turn right (west), and you will find a tall, locked gate. This is the West Gate, the first permanent upgradeBlue Princeplayers tend to find. This leads to the West Path and the special Outer Room, which offers a unique selection of rooms.
Once you open the West Gate,Blue Princewill keep it unlocked, and you will be able to access the Grounds and Outer Room whenever you like.
To open the West Gate, you must draft the Garage and the Breaker Room, turn the Garage breaker back on, then open the Garage door. Follow the path that leads south across a wooden plank bridge and you will be able to unlock the West Gate from the other side.
The Apple Orchard
Find The Gate Code
The Apple Orchard is located right behind Simon’s tent on the eastern side of the outdoor Grounds of the Estate. Follow the path that leads left, through the gate, to find this area. To get in, you must find the four-letter code for the padlock on the small white gate.
This code can be found in the background of a photo in the Dark Room. The first time you enter the Dark Room, the lights will go out, so be sure to power it back up with a Boiler Room or turn the Dark Room breaker back on to be able to see.
Run back to the Orchard and enter the four-digit code tounlock the Apple Orchard permanently. This permanentBlue Princeunlock will also grant you an extra 20 Steps to use every day, raising your starting Steps from 50 to 70. Getting nearly 50% bonus Steps makes it the best permanent additionBlue Princeplayers should prioritize first.
The Gemstone Cavern
Solve The Secret Breaker Box Puzzle
While running between the Estate and the Apple Orchard you may have noticed a large security-locked door on the hill overlooking Simon’s camp. This is the Gemstone Cavern, a permanent addition inBlue Princethatwill grant you 2 Gemsat the start of every day.
To unlock this door, you must solve a secret Breaker Box puzzle. Three notes, one in the Mail Room and two in the emails of the Office Terminal, explain how this secret puzzle works. Essentially, you must interact with the six buttons below the V.A.C. Indicator to turn them six different colors.
The correct order for the secret Breaker Box puzzle is:
Once you arrange the buttons in this order, a wall will open behind the breaker box. Pull the lever, and you will unlock the Gemstone Cavern permanent upgrade and start each day with 2 Gems.
Blackbridge Grotto
Power & Solve The Laboratory Puzzle
The finalBlue Princepermanent upgrade is the Blackbridge Grotto. Some players may find this earlier than other permanent upgrades, but because it requires players to solve several puzzles, itwill take most players a long time to solve.
Essentially, you must have a Laboratory and a Boiler Room, and these rooms must either be Adjoined or connected via rooms that feature power ducts. Power up the Boiler Room, then return to the Laboratory.
In the corner of this room, next to the Terminal, you will find a lever puzzle. Solve the Periodic Table puzzle nearby to find out the correct order: you must first pull Lever 9, then Lever 3. If successful, and if the room is powered by the Boiler Room, you will unlock a secret doorway under the Estate just outside the eastern gate.
The Blackbridge Grotto is one of the most useful permanent additions inBlue Princebecause it allows you toaccess one offline Terminaleach day from any other Terminal.
Find out the Admin Password to access the Terminal in the Grotto, change permissions (and read the notes), and you will be able to initiate an Experiment the moment you find your first Terminal in the house.
Other Blue Prince Permanent Upgrades & Collectibles
