This step-by-step guide forBlack Ops 6will make obtaining the Empty Canisters all too easy, and put players on the right path to upgrading the Ray Gun Mark 2, so look below to find out how to get all Empty Canisters without spending any Salvage and without being a high level.
How to Get the First Empty Canister in Shattered Veil
The first Empty Canister that players can obtain will require players to have the Ray Gun Mark 2. This is a relatively simple process thatcan be completed as soon as Round 10if players want the free version instead of spinning the Mystery Box, and they can find how to get one, below:
Players will now need touse the Ray Gun Mark 2 to shoot blue crystals that are found in specific areas of the map. Only one of these blue crystals will actually drop the Empty Capsule, but there are only 4 of them to find, and they drop Salvage, so it’s worth destroying them all.
Blue Crystal #1 Location
The first blue crystal that players can shoot can be found in theConservatory, the area just to the left of spawn in the Garden Pond, and just before exiting to grab Quick Revive. It is found on the ceiling inside the building.
Blue Crystal #2 Location
The second blue crystal that players can find will be in theEast Foyer, an area found to the right of the Grand Foyer in the same room as the fax machine and before the Stamin-Up room. If players head into the room with the fax machine and look up, they will see the blue crystalon the ceiling.
Blue Crystal #3 Location
The third blue crystal can be found on the north-east wall above the door that leads to the Nursery in theSouth West Balcony. Simply head outside onto the balcony and look up at the wall before heading back inside.
Blue Crystal #4 Location
The last blue crystal location will be at the end of theService Tunnel, found past S.A.M.’s room in the Mainframe Chamber, and before heading left into the Supply Depot. This blue crystal is also on the ceiling.
Destroying the blue crystal will drop the Empty Canister that players can pick up and place into their inventory.
How to Get the Second Empty Canister in Shattered Veil
The second empty canister is the easiest for players to grab, and all they need is the LT53 Kazimir, which is a piece of tactical equipment that can be obtained via two ways in Shattered Veil. The first and easiest way to get theLT53 Kazimir is to head to the Service Tunnel past the Mainframe Chamber, where, when facing north-east, there will be some rubble with adead soldier holding the LT53 Kazimir, which can be picked up. The second way toget the LT53 Kazimiris to spend 1,500 Salvage at the Crafting Table, but players can only do this after Level 48.
With the LT53 Kazimir acquired, exit the Mainframe Chamber andhead to the Rear Patio, where, down the stairs and below the Double Tap Root Beer perk machine, players will find a hole in the wall. Players must nowthrow the LT53 Kazimir at the center of this holein the wall, and once the LT53 Kazimir has finished, the Empty Canister will pop out of it.
How to Get the Third Empty Canister in Shattered Veil
The third Empty Canister in Shattered Veil will require a few Combat Axe lethal items to begin, and while they can bemade at the Crafting Tablefor 200 Salvage at Level 53, there aretwo Combat Axes that can be acquired for free:
With a Combat Axe in hand, head to the Mainframe Chamber and exit through tothe Service Tunnel, where, to the left of the GobbleGum machine, players will see a burst valveconnected to 3 red valves, ending with either A or B. With the firstCombat Axe, players will need to throw it at the middle red valve, closest to the burst one. To aim this correctly, line up the Combat Axe with the red valve, and aim a little higher than it, so that it hits the red valve and bursts it.
Now, it’s time to find whether thenext valve to hit is A or B. This can be done by returning to the Mainframe Chamber, where on thenorth-east wall there will be a chamber pod with a dead zombie and the Empty Canister. To the left of this chamber is eitherthe letter A or B, it changes every game. Now, throw the Combat Axe at the valve that corresponds with the letterin your game, and doing so correctly will see dialogue from S.A.M.
Lastly, players need a Molotov. OneMolotov can be acquired for free above the Grand Foyer in the Overlook on a food cartjust to the right of the bar. Alternatively, players can use a Crafting Table to make one for 350 Salvage at Level 32. With a Molotov, throw it at the chamber that holds the Empty Canisterto burst it open, where players are now able to grab this Empty Canister.
What Are Empty Canisters Used For in Shattered Veil?
Empty Canisters are used to upgrade the Ray Gun Mark 2 into its three separate variants. When players acquire an Empty Capsule, they can interact with one of the yellow stations found at the three locations below to begin the process of upgrading their Ray Gun Mark 2, but most of them require additional parts to proceed. However, for those wondering about the locations of every Ray Gun Mark 2 upgrade, they can find the information they need below:
What the Upgrade Does

Shem’s Henge, opposite Speed Cola (to the right of the Garden Pond spawn)
