Transformershas seen anincredible number of iterations over the decades. This means its characters have been portrayed at many sizes for different levels of effect. Optimus Prime has many instances of being portrayed as around 20 feet (6 meters), such as in the original Generation 1 cartoons.
However, he has also achieved vastly grander forms since then. Readers can find many instances of officially confirmed heights of characters, but there are some instances where heights may be clearly larger than others while still needing to speculate about how high they stand.
6Transformers (2007)
Optimus Prime Stands at 28 Feet Tall
Just as he has appeared in numerous incarnations before. Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobots, and they are clashing against the Decepticons led by Megatron. The live-action films saw Optimus get a rather hefty height boost. From just over 19 feet up to 28 feet tall.
Optimus would return to his Generation 1 height forTransformers: Rise of the Beasts. However, Optimus Prime would see two massive spikes to his height in other films. Neither of these spikes holds a candle to his largest form across all mediums.
It is worth noting that this was not his preliminary height. His height, along with Bumblebee, Ratchet, and Jazz were each slightly taller. Optimus Prime’s preliminary height was to be 32 feet.
5Transformers: The Last Knight
Optimus Prime Stands at 29 Feet Tall
Boththe designs of Optimus Primeand his height have fluctuated dramatically throughout the numerous live-action films, withTransformers: Revenge of the Fallenfeaturing one of his largest forms in the film franchise.
Transformers: The Last Knightalso features a new form of Optimus Prime that stands taller than how he first appeared, albeit only by 1 foot. This new form smooths out a lot of his components and looks more like a suit of armor than how he is usually portrayed.
4Transformers: Fall of Cybertron
Optimus Prime Stands at ~30 Feet Tall
While the exact height of this incarnation is not divulged, it has officially been stated to be around 30 feet. This makes it one of the animated variants to rival the size scale seen in the live-action films.
This form of Optimus Prime is not limited to just video games and also appears in multiple forms of written format. Fall of Cybertron is seen as a continuation of the War for Cybertron continuity, taking many of its established lore elements as its base.
3IDW Continuity (2005)
Optimus Prime Stands at 38 Feet Tall
IDW has released countless comics set in different incarnations of the Transformers franchise. These span through numerous different continuities. For this continuity, Optimus Prime stands at 38 feet tall.
The comics are a treasure trove of stories and lore, featuring many iconic characters and story elements. A lot of characters are also taken in new directions, such as Megatron and Galvatron being separate entities.
In the original G1 story of Transformers, Galvatron is an evolution of Megatron after he is savedby Unicron.
2Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen
Optimus Prime Stands at 40 Feet Tall
During the events of this film, Optimus Prime receives a substantial power-up in order to fight against the film’s primary antagonistic force. This powered-up form sees him stand at an impressive 40 feet tall. This makes it one of Optimus Prime’s largest forms across the entirety of the Transformers franchise, as well as the largest form seen in the live-action films.
It is worth noting that there exists a Combiner form known as Omega Prime. This form may be substantially larger than the previously listed forms of Optimus Prime, but it is controlled byboth Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnusequally. This form was created so that Ultra Magnus could steal the Matrix of Leadership from Optimus. There have also been Combiner forms that reach up to 100 feet, but like with Omega Prime, these Combiner forms are not exclusively controlled by Optimus Prime compared to the form seen in this film.

Optimus Prime Stands at 246 Feet Tall
Optimus Prime takes on a form known as Optimus Prime Mode Eva in the crossover story with theEvangelionfranchise. This form is obtained from Optimus scanningEvangelion Unit-01, more commonly referred to as EVA-01. This form has the appearance of a large Optimus Prime with a purple and green color scheme.
Optimus Prime also maintains full control over this form. Optimus stands at his highest officially recorded height of 75 meters, which can be converted to 246 feet tall. This makes him tower over many ofthe franchise’s numerous Combiners.
