Hypocrisy is an attribute many characters inOne Pieceportray as their ideals are tested time and time again, forcing some of them to take actions contradictory to their stance. However, some characters take hypocrisy to an extreme level, nearly embodying it as a personality. Be itthrough cowardice, extreme actions, or plain deception, these characters take actions that are the exact opposite of their proclaimed ideals.

10Wapol
The Hypocritical Tyrant Who Abandoned His Kingdom
As the spoiled child and successor to the throne of the Drum Kingdom, Wapol’s hypocrisy and cowardice know no end. Unsurprisingly, his most hypocritical act was against the very people he ruled. He demanded absolute loyalty from them and even banished all the doctors, save for his personal ones, to make them forcefully obedient.
He, on the other hand, didnot possess a single shred of loyalty, and he willingly abandoned his people to save his own skin after being attacked by Blackbeard. He does not appear to change anytime soon, as his hypocritical nature remains consistent despite his losses.
9Vinsmoke Judge
The Abusive Father Who Needed His Son’s Help
Most of Judge’s hypocritical actions are tied to his third son, Sanji.He completely disregarded Sanji as a childbecause of his weakness and compassion, not lifting a hand to help him no matter how much brutality he suffered from his siblings.
However, he shamelessly sought help after being exploited by Big Mom and ironically got saved by Sanji. He could not even face Sanji without a Raid Suit and had to resort to using his minions as shields to overpower Sanji, the same Sanji he claimed to be miles stronger than.
8Charlotte Linlin
The Queen Of Broken Ideals
For a character with lofty ideals, Big Mom is so hypocritical that it could stand as her entire personality. She claimed to desire a country where there would be no discrimination between races, yet she despised her daughter for being a three-eyed tribesman, calling her a freak and manipulating her with no remorse.
She has also treated other people as collectibles, which contradicts her stance against discrimination. Not forgetting her disregard for her promise to Vinsmoke Judge while holding promises in high regard among many others, Big Mom’s hypocrisy knew no end.
7Arlong
A Supremacist Who Became What He Hated
Although Arlong has redeemable qualities, such as loyalty to his fellow Fish-men, his hypocrisy regarding race is an attribute he shows consistently. He despises humans who think themselves to be superior to Fish-men while boldly spewing Fish-men supremacy, making him no better than those he hates.
Furthermore, fans believe that his settlement in East Blue magnifies his hypocrisy. They believe his choice to settle in the sea with relatively weaker characters to propagate his Fish-men superiority was made because of his defeat at the hands of Admiral Kizaru, a human.
6Admiral Sakazuki
Enforcing Justice With Injustice
When it comes to absolute justice, Sakazuki is one of the strictest believers. His pursuit of justice is so extreme that he is willing to eliminate anyone who is a criminal, related to a criminal, or even supports a criminal. As long as the scent of crime is on them, no matter the gravity or nature of the crime, Sakazuki deems that character guilty.
Ironically, his belief is the genesis of his hypocrisy as he abandons all ethics to pursue absolute justice. He is willing to use any method available to achieve justice, even lawfully and morally wrong ones that scream injustice.
5Marshall D. Teach
The Opportunistic Betrayer
Blackbeard possesses so many negative attributes that his hypocrisy is often forgotten. However, it is the backbone behind his success so far in the series. He didnot hesitate to kill Thatch and Whitebearddespite despising those who betray their comrades and take shortcuts to achieve power, despite proclaiming his belief in dreams.
Unlike most hypocritical characters whose hypocrisy stems from cowardice, Blackbeard uses his hypocrisy as a tool to succeed, playing by whatever rules benefit him at the moment. This makes him one of the most unpredictable antagonists of the series.
4Donquixote Doflamingo
The King Of False Loyalty
Loyalty is an attribute that Doflamingo espouses and requires from his subordinates. He also takes care of them in return, is willing to take absurd measures for their sake, and even expresses emotions at the loss of comrades. That said, his actions are not out of loyalty, as he is willing to sacrifice them for his own sake.
He tried to take advantage of his brother, Rosinante, to gain immortality and had no issues with letting his subordinates die in the Birdcage he created at Dressrosa, claiming he could just form a new crew despite preaching loyalty.
3Kurozumi Orochi
A Victim Who Became Worse Than His Oppressors
Performing the very actions that traumatized one into action is one of the lowest lows of hypocrisy, a low Orochi is all too familiar with. Despite his villainous arcstarting because of the unfair treatmenthe got due to his grandfather’s crimes, he harbored undeserved severe hatred for Kozuki Sukiyaki as his birth had derailed the Kurozumi coup d’état.
His despicable actions toward Komurasaki, Momonosuke, and the country of Wano in general further highlight his hypocritical nature. On the other hand, the revenge carried out on him by the younger Kozuki generation was deserved — a successful revenge at that.
2The World Government
Justice Built On Lies
The World Government is an organization that claims to stand for justice and protect the people against pirates, but their actions, more often than not, say otherwise. In their pursuit of absolute justice, they attack others unjustly, ignoring the whole point of justice altogether. They alsorecruited the very pirates they huntedas warlords, giving them leeway in illegal activities that they hunted the others for.
It is comical how one of the biggest plot twists of the series is also tied to their hypocrisy, as the presence of Imu, the secret ruler of the world, contradicts their principle of having no absolute ruler.
1Celestial Dragons
False Gods Of A Corrupt System
One of the major pilots of the hypocrisy of the World Government, the Celestial Dragons embody hypocrisy to a T. They claim to be superior but are as incompetent as they come,earning their alleged superiority through lineagerather than might — and depending on the Marines for protection.
They also act self-righteously, believing those not of their status to be filthy — despite being soiled in corruption and greed themselves. Their hypocrisy makes them one of the most despised demographics inOne Piece, and their downfall appears imminent.
