Summary

There’s hardly somebody on thisplanet who isn’t a superhero fan. Their flashy costumes, superpowers, and story compel everyone, which is why comic books are still popular, and many studios make movies based on these stories. However, sometimes reading and watching their superhero isn’t it for the fans, and they want something more, which is where the superhero video games genre comes in.

These games let fans be in the boots of their favorite superheroes and combat crime and danger like they have read and seen in comic books and movies. These games also let fans connect better with these characters too. Here are the best superhero games that players can try out with cool storylines and over-the-top gameplay.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine The Game

It is a well-known fact thatX-Men Origins: Wolverineis a poorly crafted movie with a lackluster movie with a lot of downsides. However, before the movie was released, Activision gave fansa tie-in game that was just way better than the movie itself. The story was much better, and the elements of gore were so prominent that evenGod Of Warwould shy away. Players finally get to feel what being Wolverine is like, a completely unhinged beast that can slice anything in his path.

The game dives much deeper into the origin story of Wolverine and has a similar story to the movie, Logan, taking down Sabertooth for killing her true love. But, there are other elements too, and side quests that make the game very enjoyable. So for the love of Wolverine and Hugh Jackman, players can definitely jump into X-Men Origins: Wolverine The Game.

The Merc with a mouth, Deadpool, has always been an interesting character in Marvel Comics. In the era of Batman, Spider-Man and Iron Man games, Activision released a game on this unserious character. While creating a comicbook character-based game, the devs had to keep in mind the character while playing must feel like him, and they did a fantastic job on this.

They added everyquip, action and physical comedy that Deadpool would do in his video game. It also starts in very Deadpool-fashion with he himself pitching to create “the most awesome game ever.” The story is great, not something spectacular. Deadpool gets to team up with a bunch of X-Men members such as Cable, Psylocke, and his best buddy Wolverine. It is a very underrated, super-fun game that DP fans must play.

In 2014, Marvel Studios introduced the broader world and casual Marvel fans to Guardians Of The Galaxy, a team combating the intergalactic threats in space. Fans actually like this presentation and banking on this popularity,Marvel, with Square Enix, developed Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy.Players take on the role of Peter Quill, aka Star-Lord, and the team starts on a mission to clear the mess that they actually created. Even though the game features all five original members: Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Groot, and Rocket Raccoon, players can’t switch between characters, and there’s a good mechanic behind it.

So, basically, as the Star Lord, players have to coordinate the time and strategize their attack to make the most out of it. In general, in RPGs, the main character usually does the heavy lifting while others are just there. However, this actually feels like a team game. Star-Lord doesn’t feel like an overpowered character overshadowing others and requires others to support him. The game features tonnes of cutscenes and dialogue, which give a more movie-type vibe.

Injustice 2is thesequel to the widely popularInjustice: Gods Among Us. It was a general consensus that the single player inInjustice: Gods Among Uswas great, but it was way too long. InInjustice 2,that isn’t the case. The single-mode campaign feels much tighter and also gives players time to learn the abilities of the main characters. It doesn’t feel linear in a way that characters have to square off for the story, and things go here and there sometimes.

The devs have also changed the mechanics here and there to make sure the gameplay feels different from the previous installment. The gear system in the game is also a bit unique, but opens the gate for many microtransactions that many players hate.

Guardians Of The Galaxy

Batman: Arkham Knightis the final installment of the widely popularBatman Arkhamseries. This follows up the story after the events ofBatman: Arkham City. After the death of the Joker, Bruce Wayne isn’t himself and struggles with keeping things together. This was reflected very well with him seeing visions of Joker across the map. Batman truly hits rock-bottom in this game with all hisclosed one in dangerand his city on the verge of being destroyed.

Players also get to drive Bat-mobile for the first time. However, this quickly becomes more of a chore with all tank battles feeling repetitive. The storyline takes a slight dip from ArkhamCityand some missions can also feel underwhelming. Rocksteady still managed to introduce some great mechanics and add many more skills to Dark Knight’s repertoire.Batman: Arkham Knightis still one of the best-looking games with satisfying graphics and the detailing of the map just extends the long-term playing value.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2is the third installment to the Sony and Insomniac well-craftedSpider-Manvideo game series. It continues the story from theMiles Moralesspin-off. Fans jump back tobreathtaking New York City and fight the crime as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales. The fighting mechanics might seem similar to the past 2 games. However, there is a bunch of new stuff, like a Rage Meter with symbiote suit and a new skillset for Miles Morales. The boss battles are very interestingly enjoyable and don’t feel like a straightforward battle.

The game also has various side missions which are very Spider-Man-esque and give players a feel of how Spidey actually does things. The story features a good-old Peter Parker-Venom tussle and how he overcomes the symbiote. It is a classic Spider-Man game and every webhead would love to swing away in this game.

Injustice 2

TheBatman Arkhamseriesis the Magnum Opus of the superhero video game genre. Among the four-game series,Arkham Cityis just the one that peaked to the absolute top with everything it offers. It has a great story with great boss battles such as against Mr. Freeze, where players have to change they can’t repeat their tactics, or battle against Ra’s Al Ghul. It brings back iconic combat mechanics that Rocksteady crafted in ArkhamAsylumand further improves on it.

Even though newer additions likeArkham Knightintroduced new features and improved graphics,Arkham Citystill holds up as the story is much tighter and combat isn’t as repetitive. It has a unique story with two primary plot points: stopping Hugo Strange’s evil plan for greater good, and dealing with his old nemesis, the Joker. From start to end, it makes players feel different types of emotions and is perfect in every sense. It is the best superhero game that everyone should definitely play.
