Summary
While it’s crucial for any pirate to have a loyal crew around them to keep them company, it can also help to have a loving sibling, who can help out whenever the going gets tough. As anyone who has read or watchedOne Piecewill know all too well, there are many brothers and sisters in the series who are actually quite spiteful and inconsiderate of their family members, which is why those who come across as supportive are such a rare sight.
To know that a family member is out there in the world can help keep a pirate going during a long and arduous adventure, while those who aren’t pirates can instead hold out hope that their brother or sister will eventually make a name for themselves doing what they love. With that in mind, here are the verybest siblings in the world ofOne Piecebased off how good they are at watching over their close relatives and supporting them when they need it most.
8Kouzuki Hiyori
Momonosuke’s Sister Was Ecstatic To Hear That Her Brother Was Still Alive
Hiyori is the daughter of the late and legendary samurai, Kouzuki Oden, but after her father’s murder, she would be forced to survive in Kaido’s crime-ridden country while her brother, Momonosuke, waswarped 20 years into the future. Despite having a rough time growing up with only Kawamatsu to look after her, Hiyori didn’t hold any bitterness or hate towards Momonosuke. In fact, upon hearing he was still alive, she became overfilled with joy, saying to Zoro that she’d been searching for him for quite some time.
Once the two finally manage to reunite, it’s honestly quite heartbreaking seeing just how happy they are to see one another again after so much time has passed. Hiyori’s tears at the sight of Momonosuke taking the position of Shogun of Wano demonstrates just how much she cares about her little brother, who she was desperate to see succeed, considering everything their family had been through.
7Gorgon Sisters
Hancock’s Sisters Will Protect The Ruler Of The Kuja Pirates With Their Lives
Hancock isn’t exactly the easiest person to get along with, considering she loves nothing more than looking down on those who she views as inferior to her, which applies to most people. Despite this, Boa’s two sisters, Sandersonia and Marigold, remain adamantly loyal to the leader of the Kuja pirates and are willing to put everything on the line to defend her, as they demonstrated when taking on Luffy not long afterhe arrived at Amazon Lily island.
The close bond shared between the three sisters comes from their tragic past lives of being slaves, where they only had each other to depend on until Fisher Tiger created an opportunity for them to escape. Sandersonia and Marigold will never let any harm come to Hancock, and for that, they are a pair of siblings who any pirate would be lucky to have on their crew.
6Fukaboshi
Fukaboshi Does His Best To Keep His Princess Sister On The Straight And Narrow
Though Shirahoshi is technically the mermaid princess of Fishman Island, she doesn’t exactly seem all that confident in being a representative of her people. The truth is, Shirahoshi has been a huge crybaby ever since she was little, and with her mother often being away to preach about the importance of forming equality between humans and Fishmen, it was up to her brothers to watch over her.
Out of her three siblings, though, Fukaboshi is often seen to be the most caring and concerned for his sister due tohis stoic and deadly serious persona. When Shirahoshi plucked up the courage to attend the Reverie, for example, Fukaboshi was the one who scolded her for talking badly about the royal families so that she wouldn’t get into trouble. He also protected her from being kidnapped more than a few times.
5Charlotte Katakuri
The Sweet Commander Hides His Mouth To Prevent His Sister From Being Ridiculed
When Katakuri, one of Big Mom’s dangerous Sweet Commanders, first makes his debut duringthe Whole Cake Island arc, he seems like the perfect child of the Charlotte family. With immense physical strength, impressive Observation Haki, and an absurdly powerful Devil Fruit, it felt as though he had no imperfections, but the truth is, he is hiding a very big secret: his large mouth.
As a child, Katakuri was teased a lot for his mouth, and while he was able to hold his own against any bullies, his sister, Brulee, was the one who took the brunt of the damage. As a way to prevent his sister from being hurt, Katakuri decided to cover his mouth with a scarf and hide his love of eating donuts from anyone and everyone, showing just how deeply he cares about the well-being of his family.
4Nojiko
After Their Mother Was Murdered By Arlong, Nojiko Did Her Best To Protect Nami From Danger
While Nojiko was often seen as the sensible and levelheaded sister, Nami was the troublemaker who would always get herself into trouble for her constant stealing. While this didn’t go over all that well withthe pair’s adoptive mother, Belle-Mere, Nojiko would actually support Nami’s skills at thievery, and after their mother was brutally murdered by Arlong, Nojiko would act as a kind of guardian to her younger sister.
When Nami eventually joined Arlong’s crew in an attempt to free her village from his control, Nojiko was close enough to her to realize her intentions were good and pure-hearted. Even when Nami was forced to bear the Arlong tattoo on her arm, Nojiko would get the same mark as a way to help her see it as more of a fashion choice rather than a permanent scar, which just goes to show how determined she is to see her little sister smile every so often.
3Vinsmoke Reiju
Reiju Was The Only Vinsmoke Child To Support Sanji Rather Than Humiliate Him
Saying Sanji had a troubled upbringing would be putting it lightly. As the only Vinsmoke child to not inherit superpowers, due to his mother taking a drug that would prevent the effects so that he could keep his emotions, Sanji would become the humiliation of the family. While his brothers and father would constantly pick on him and make his life hell, Reiju was the only one who showed some form of compassion for her brother.
In fact, it was Reiju who convinced Sanji to escape from the Vinsmokes at a young age, which is what eventually led him to Zeff and the Straw Hats. When Sanji is eventually dragged back into family business, once again, Reiju is there to help him whenever she can, despite it putting her at odds with her father and brothers.
2Sabo
Luffy’s Considerate Older “Brother” Becomes Very Overprotective After The Loss Of Ace
While not related by blood, Luffy, Ace, and Sabo became sworn brothers when they were still kids, with Oda himself and many of the fans seeing them as siblings considering their deep familial bond with one another. In the case of Sabo, he often acted as the more kindhearted and gentle brother to Luffy compared to Ace, and even when Sabo decided to abandon his real family and set sail to become a pirate, he even asked Ace to watch over Luffy to prevent him getting into mischief.
After Sabo loses his memories, and his ship is blown to smithereens by a Celestial Dragon, he eventually comes to remember Luffy after learning ofAce’s death at Marineford. This would cause Sabo to become even more protective over Luffy, with him even throwing himself at the Admiral Fujitora to keep Luffy safe in Dressrosa and promising that he’ll always be there to help out his last living brother whenever he needs him. He would also obtain Ace’s precious Mera Mera no Mi fruit as a way to continue the legacy of his fallen brother.
1Ace
Asthe son of Gol D. Roger, Ace was vilified by much of the world, but one person who never cared about his past or lineage was Luffy. As a result, Ace would come to form an incredibly close bond with the future pirate, and even when Ace sees him again after three years when appearing in Alabasta, he still acts just as supportive as ever, asking the other Straw Hats to keep an eye on their captain while Ace is away doing his own thing.
What really demonstrates how much of a selfless sibling Ace is, though, is how he will always put Luffy’s well-being over his own. When he was about to be executed by the Marines, Ace would tell Luffy to turn back rather than try to help him, so that Luffy could save his own skin and continue his adventure. It’s also revealed that he did his part in keeping Blackbeard away from Luffy, despite it putting his own life at risk. In the end, Ace would even give his own life to protect Luffy, thanking him one final time for loving him as a brother, despite the reputation he’s been given by the world around him.
