WithMonster Hunter Wilds’first title update out of the way, many players are returning to the game to fight the new monsters and experiment with thenew gearon offer. Others are returning to try out a new weapon type, and plenty of newMonster Hunterplayers are still jumping in for the first time. The choice and variety of gear and weapons on offer inMonster Hunter Wildscan be intimidating at first, but players will soon find that this gear crafting loop is one of the main strengths of the game.
Even within a single weapon type, there are a multitude of crafting options throughout the campaign, and the way that armor skills work means that there are a number of viable complimentary sets that will enhance a player’s performance withtheir chosen weapon type. Whether it’s for set bonuses or just stacking levels of the most useful skills, some armor pieces are more beneficial for certain weapon types, and some are just generally useful. For Dual Blades users, there are a number of good choices at all ranks. These are the best armor sets for Dual Blade builds inMonster Hunter Wilds.

Set Bonus:
Armor and set bonuses are much less important at low rank, and at the start of the game, players will do just fine with the basic Bone set. Once Dual Blades users get to Guardian Ebony Odogaron, though, it’s worth taking the time to craft their full armor set as soon as possible.
That’s mostly due to the Burst Boost set bonus skill, which extends the duration of Burst and gives additional attack power while it’s active. Burst is highly effective for Dual Blades, as it boosts consecutive attacks, and Dual Blades excel at fast, multi-hit combos. Stacking ranks of Burst with this armor set will carry Dual Blades players to mid-game with ease.
This set is another early to mid-game option that sacrifices some attack power to provide stamina-boosting utility to the build. Players still get one rank of Burst Boost from two pieces of the G. Ebony Odogaron set, but the rest of the set now provides ranks toConstitution and Stamina Surge.
If players find stamina management an issue in the early game, then this set can help, but it’s not quite as damage-efficient as using the full G. Ebony Odogaron set.
Once players get access to thehigh rankarmor sets, it’s time to upgrade to the next rank of G.Ebony Odogaron’s gear. At this point, players will have access to a lot more options to mix and match with these pieces to get the best mix of utility and damage. This option gives players Burst Boost rank one from the G. Ebony pieces, and Second Wind from the G. Fulgur Anjanath two-piece set.
Players can now mix this with the Mizutsune Mail (beta) to get an extra rank of Burst and Constitution. Using Second Wind means players can make use of the Affinity bonus from Maximum Might (use armor decorations to stack this). This set gives a good mix of offense and stamina utility.
This set makes use of the synergy between Gore Magala’s Black Eclipseset bonusand the Antivirus skill to boost players' affinity and damage. Players still get Burst Boost from the Odogaron two-piece and can stack up five ranks of Burst, as well as fit in some additional beneficial skills like Agitator and Coalescence. That makes this a very attack and affinity-focused set. It’s best used with damage-focused late-game builds.
This set uses just one rank of the Black Eclipse set bonus from Gore Magala’s armor set and focuses on stacking useful armor skills instead. The skills players will want to focus on here are Weakness Exploit and Burst at rank five, along with Coalescence and Antivirus at rank three.
While this set doesn’t offer a lot of utility aside from damage, it works well with anArtian weaponand Critical Element.
This set focuses on getting the most out of Gore Magala’s Black Eclipse armor set bonus. The boost players get when recovering from Frenzy is even stronger with rank two of this skill. Players just need to ensure they add extra ranks of Antivirus on their armor decorations to get this skill up to rank three.
There are a lot of tier onedecoration slotsfor players to use on this armor set, so they can still benefit from multiple ranks of Burst and utility skills like Constitution. This set works well for Raw damage-focused builds.
This endgame set aims for the best balance of offense and defense, utilizing one rank of Black Eclipse for damage and one rank of Decimator from the Arkveld set for some healing utility. This set will also require players to stack three ranks of Antivirus to be most effective, as well as Burst and Weakness Exploit at rank five for added damage.
With this skill set up, this set encourages a playstyle that focuses on generating andbreaking wounds, both for damage and for additional healing.
