Summary

Respawn Entertainment has released a new patch forApex Legendsthat fixes a couple of frustrating issues impacting players. This newApex Legendsupdate does not introduce new content, but it should help keep battle royale games fair for those who play Lifeline and Ballistic.

WhileApex Legendsis over six years old, Respawn has looked to keep balancing the game in various ways in Season 24. So far, this season has reworked the Assault and Skirmisher classes, addingnew perks forApex Legendsplayers. In addition, many alterations to other Legends and weapons have been made. These changes have helped keep the game fresh for the player base and created more exciting battle royale matches. However, some unintended bugs have slipped through the cracks, requiring the developer to take action.

These issues were addressed in an April 16 update and pertained to Lifeline and Ballistic. Specifically, the developer fixed a bug that causedLifeline’s D.O.C. droneto malfunction, with some players experiencing an “indefinite cooldown.” This is good news for Lifeline players, as her Tactical is a significant part of her kit and functions as an important part of her Support role.

Besides the D.O.C. drone fix, Respawn resolved an issue when using a charged Sentinel or Rampage asBallistic inApex Legends. According to Respawn, this patch fixes an issue that caused players to lose a charge on these two guns when leveling up their Evo Shield while playing the Legend. Like with Lifeline, this bug was doubtlessly annoying for players, as the Sentinel and Rampage can be considerably more powerful in their charged states.

It is worth noting that these bug fixes follow apreviousApex Legendsupdate for Aprilthat made more substantial balance changes. Going beyond bug fixes, that patch buffed Legends like Mirage and Conduit. In addition, it improved the effectiveness of SMGs and the Hemlock while nerfing the P2020 and L-Star.

Time will tell what Respawn has in store for the battle royale game in the remainder of 2025. Season 25 ofApex Legendsis less than a month away, meaning the developer might begin teasing new content for the game soon. It is worth pointing out that a new Legend has not been added since Alter in Season 21, so it will be interesting to see if one gets added in the next season. In addition, the Fight Force Event is ongoing, which added new cosmetics, including a Prestige skin for Mirage. Hopefully, whatever comes next for the game will keep the player base engaged.
