Summary

The Brilliant Healer’s New Life In The Shadowsseems to rank among themost popular anime of this new season, and though fans have been quite disillusioned with some of the new series popping up lately, this one seems to be great. It combines action, adventure, and a good old-fashioned edgy character.

But while new episodes are released, fans might be getting the itch for more, so in this list, they will find some series that are similar toTheBrilliant Healer’s New Life In The Shadows. Some have similar main characters, while others have similar settings, but all of them are worth watching if you loved this new series based on the Light Novel series by Sakaku Hishikawa.

The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent

Imagine being transported to another world, out of the blue, and to top it off, being told there’s no way to go back. So far, a typical Isekai trope, until something unexpected happens: the person who was summoned next to her is called ‘The Saint," and the protagonist is discarded as a flop.

Until she discovers having a knack for herbal medicine, and starts using her abilities to heal others with extreme efficiency, proving that she was the one meant to save them after all.The Saint’s Magic Power Is Omnipotenthas some similarities toThe Brilliant Healer’s New Life In The Shadows, with an oblivious protagonistwho only cares about her medical research and has no time for political entanglements.

Parallel World Pharmacyis a little bit different from the average isekai, in the sense that the person invoked to another world has a lot of pharmaceutical knowledge beforehand, that is useful up to a certain point: Only that the rules of the world where he lands are a little bit different, and the conception of how viruses and bacteria cause diseases are a little bit messed up.

So, if fans are up for some interesting comedic tropes mixed with moral dilemmas and a protagonist who just wants medical science to advance in his new homeland, then they’re up for a treat.

Wise Man’s Grandchildis similar toThe Brilliant Healer’s New Life In The Shadowsin variosu aspects: They both have an oblivious, but somehow old-fashioned main character, who is overpowered and has powerful healing abilities. Though in the case ofWise Man’s Grandchild,Shin Wolford’s abilities are not limited only to healing magic.

On the other hand, there’s plenty of political turmoil and conspiracies, and even a close-to-perfection villain with such a good background origin that will make fans want to cheer for him. On the other hand, if fans are also tired of series with harem elements, this one might be just what they’re looking for, as the MCcommits to a single girl and avoids the harem route.

Arifureta: From Commonplace To World’s Strongesthas some common elements withThe Brilliant Healer’s New Life In The Shadowsthat are related to their worldbuilding (with many people from different species coexisting under less-than-ideal circumstances) and a betrayed main character who is discarded by arrogant people.

And that’s where the similarities end, as Hajime Nagumo is more of an edgelord thant Zenos, and the latter is more focused on surviving and gaining a steady income than in a convoluted revenge plot against the gods. One thing is for certain: They both have a harem growing around them, and they are fully aware of it.

reincarnated-as-a-sword-2016.jpg

Reincarnated as a Sword is an atypical isekai that borders on xenofiction and, at the same time, proposes an intriguing plot with a person from our worldreincarnating as an animated object: A Sentient Magical Sword, picked up by the unlikeliest of heroines. The relationship between Master and Fran is both heartwarming and devoid of ridiculous pretensions, and the battle scenes are quite good as well.

Then, since the main character is a mature person/inanimate object seeking to return to his world, and exhibiting powerful healing abilities, he has a considerably different background from that of Zenos, the protagonist ofThe Brilliant Healer’s New Life In The Shadows. But their mood, their resolute attitude, and knack for avoiding troublesome situations make them kindred spirits.

Cautious Hero The Hero Is Overpowered but Overly Cautious

This satire concentrates on all the typical clichés of the Isekai anime, and elevates them to the maximum, offering comedic relief at every step of the adventure, with a Main Character who is tremendously OP, but never enough for him to feel capable enough of beating the bad guys. On the other hand, the co-protagonist, Ristarte, is the exemplar of a healer, with capabilities way beyond simply regenerating bones, tissues, nerves, and muscles.

Though being branded as a ‘rookie’ among deities, Ristarte is a tremendously capable Goddess of Healing, meaning that there’s no chance Seiya (the MC) will be beaten. Unless, of course, the unexpected happens.Cautious Herohas quite a different setting from that ofThe Brilliant Healer’s New Life In The Shadows, nevertheless, is a good series to watch for those who enjoy high fantasy.

The Wrong Way To Use Healing Magicis one of the craziest anime fans can find nowadays: It’s main protagonist is an unconventional Healer (just like Zenos) who uses Healing Magic to fight dangerous creatures and demons. Selected as one of the Heroes that will save the world (by mistake) Usato has proven to be way stronger than originally anticipated.

Trained by the most spartan of teachers, Captain Rose of the Healing Rescue Corps, he has far surpassed the limits of what defines a healer/cleric, and become more of a battle-crazed monk. So, a great anime with even greater funny moments, but also, a solid plot and interesting characters.
