Summary

As anAmerican Horror Storyfan, I’ve been shocked by Rubber Man’s identity reveal, Twisty the Clown’s shocking rampage, and have enjoyed watching Sarah Paulson play her many engaging characters. I’m glad that Ryan Murphy’s horror anthology series wasgiven a three-season renewal in 2020, and I’ve been waiting along with other fans to find out the main plot ofAmerican Horror Storyseason 13. I like how unsettling every season’s setting is and how there is more to every character than meets the eye, and I’m sure the next season will be the same.

While I think it would be fascinating ifAHSseason 13 told a storylike theAmerican Horror Storiesepisode “Bestie,“I also think thatthis fan theory could work really well.

American Horror Story Season 13 Should Be A Paranormal Story, According To This Fan Theory

Redditor @DylanJ795shared anidea forAmerican Horror Storyseason 13and wrote:

“American Horror Story: Myth. The season can focus on a family who owns a bed and breakfast that also is a museum of the supernatural. The mother and father would be inspired by Ed and Loraine Warren, but with a Addams family twist. The husband will be revealed to be an afflicted vampire like the ones from Hotel and the wife will be a therian;shapeshifter. The season would be set in Massachusetts in the 70s.”

Another fan added to the idea:

“The Bed and Breakfast may be in Salem and there may be some references to when the witches went from Salem to New Orleans.”

Redditor @DylanJ795 agreed that would work because"Fiona became the supreme in the 70s.” Jessica Lange played Fiona Goode inAmerican Horror Story: Coven, which was season 3.WhileLange isn’t coming back forAmerican Horror Storyseason 13, it would be fun for another character to reference her.

Tate (Evan Peters) in American Horror Story Murder House

I think it would be fun ifAmerican Horror Storyseason 13 had some nods toEd and Lorraine Warren, the real-life paranormal investigatorswho inspired the Blumhouse horror franchiseThe Conjuring. I also like that this fan idea mentionsthe unique humor of the Addams Family. WhileAHSseason 1, which is calledMurder House, is about a family moving into a horrifying haunted house and season 5 is about a haunted hotel, the anthology series hasn’t explored the world of a creepy bed and breakfast. There areseveral compelling character possibilities, from quirky owners hiding a dark supernatural secret to all the strange guests in each episode. It would be interesting to see how they would interact.

I’m especially intrigued by the idea that the two main characters ofAmerican Horror Storyseason 13 could be hiding paranormal powers. This would allow the season todive into horror tropes found in popular supernatural moviessuch asPoltergeist,The Exorcist,Hereditary,Insidious, andthe Blumhouse horror franchiseParanormal Activity. Some of the most memorable tropes includeI See Dead People, Whispering Ghosts, and The Mirror Shows You Your True Self. It would be fun to see a character who has a connection to the supernatural and who realizes there are spirits at the bed and breakfast. Maybe they could be played bya returning cast member such as Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, or Lily Rabe.

American Horror Story Season 12 Poster

I loveAmerican Horror Storybecause while some characters are obviously dark and violent villains, others are more relatable. This was particularly true in the first season as Tate Landgon (Evan Peters) was creepy from the start, but Violet Harmon (Taissa Farmiga) was much more likable. I think that balance makes it an especially well-crafted series. I hope thatAmerican Horror Storyseason 13 has some characters who fans can root for easily while also diving intosupernatural elements such as terrifying ghosts hanging around the bed and breakfast, demons showing up in the mirror, lights flicking on and off, and characters having strange dreams.
