There are three types of Tints inClair Obscur: Expedition 33, Healing, Energy, and Revive, and players can upgrade their efficacy and increase the number that they can carry. To make those improvements, players will need to collect Shards and Shapes associated with each Tint. This guide is here to detail where those items can be found, and it will help players upgrade their Tints inClair Obscur: Expedition 33.
This guide is a work-in-progress and will be updated with additional locations in the upcoming days. It is also worth noting that players will have the opportunity to collect Shards and Shapes again in NG+, allowing them to continue increasing their Tint capacity.
This guide reveals the names of several locations players will visit as they work to complete the game.
All Healing Tint Upgrades in Clair Obscur Expedition 33
Healing Tint Shard #1
Follow the path beyond the Abandoned Expeditioner Camp expedition flag and go left at the fork. Follow the path, cross the bridge, and descend the ramp. There is a purple item on the ground at the bottom of the ramp, and players should collect it to obtain aResin inClair Obscur: Expedition 33.
Players should now return to the Abandoned Expeditioner Camp expedition flag and give the Resin toJar, an NPC that can be found just before the flag. Players should then shoot Jar’s torch with Free Aim and speak with the NPC to receive the Healing Tint Shard.
Healing Tint Shard #2
After passing the Sanctuary Maze Expedition Flag, players should goleft at the forkand follow the path to reach an area with someblue statues. Players should follow the path beyond the blue statues and stay right at the fork that they encounter to enter an area with the top of a domed building and a large Robust Sakapatate. Players should exit that area through a path on the left, and then enter the alcove on their right to find a Healing Tint Shard.

Headleftfrom the Paintress Shrine expedition flag to reach an alcove with the shard.
Healing Tint Shard #4
Follow the critical path beyond the Main Gate expedition flag and goleftat the fork. Continue left to reach yet another fork and go left. Follow the path to its end, and climb the stairs on the right. At the top, defeat the three Nevrons and continue forward. The shard is on the ground to the left justbefore the wooden ramp.
Healing Tint Shard #5
Just beyond the flag,ascend the rampalong the right side and enter the first corridor on the right to find this shard.
Healing Tint Shard #6
Go left after crossing the bridge that is beyond the Tainted Hearts expedition flag to enter an alcove with avery large Nevron. There arehandholdsto the right of that enemy that can be used to climb the wall, and themerchantat the top sells the shard.
Beat thebossat the end of the map.
Shape of Health #2
Follow the critical path beyond the flag, passing through the vertical room with fabric walkways and riding the lift that is beyond it. When the lift comes to a stop, look forward and to the right to find anentrance to the Manor. Inside the Manor, use Free Aim tobreak the mirrorover the sink and pass through the wall to reach an area with this shape.
Al Energy Tint Upgrades in Clair Obscur Expedition 33
Energy Tint Shard #1
Follow the critical path from the Meadow Corridor expedition flag until you enter abuilding. Climb to the top and go right after ascending the gold thread to enter an area with the shard.
Energy Tint Shard #2
There is alarge enemyat the far end of the area beyond the Lumieran Street expedition flag, and it is guarding an Energy Tint Shard.
Energy Tint Shard #3
There is a slightly elevated area within the arena where players fight themap’s final boss, and an Energy Tint Shard can be found there.
Energy Tint Shard #4
Follow the path to therightof the Paintress Shrine expedition flag. The shard is on the ground just past the boat.
Energy Tint Shard #5
After reaching the Vanguard Point expedition flag, descend the slanted cannon and lookforward and to the right. There is a stack of crates in that position, andClair Obscur: Expedition 33playerscan destroy them to reveal this shard.
Energy Tint Shard #6
Head forward from the flag to enter the arena where the battle with theSorrowful Chapelieroccurs. Immediately upon entering the arena, turn 90 degrees to the right and walk forward to ascend a small slope. Follow the path at the top to reach a group of Nevrons that guard this shard.
Energy Tint Shard #7
After passing the flag, immediately gorightto find the tint on the ground, just before a gold thread that can be descended.
Shape of Energy #1
Enter the Manor via the door that ispast the “Turn Back” signin the Gestral Village. Once inside, interact with a pan on the wall and a candle holder on the table to open a hole in the floor. Fall through the hole and pass through the wall to enter a cellar. The shape is in the crates stacked to the right of the stairs in this location.
Shape of Energy #2
Enter the Manor via the door on theisland south of Blades' Graveyard. Climb the spiral staircase and then jump across the platforms that extend from the walls.
All Revive Tint Upgrades in Clair Obscur Expedition 33
Revive Tint Shard #1
After obtaining the Resin that can be used to claim Healing Tint Shard #1, continue forward, following the path that runs along theleft side of the slope, to reach this shard.
Revive Tint Shard #2
As players make their way along the critical path from the Coral Cave expedition flag, they will follow a lantern-lined path. There is aholeon the right side of that path, which players should enter. Players can now follow the path beyond the hole to reach a Paint Cage, and they should break its three locks to access the Revive Tint Shard that is inside.
Revive Tint Shard #3
After passing the Sanctuary Maze Expedition Flag, players should gorightat the fork and look for a small alcove on their right. There is a low gap in this alcove through which players can crawl, and they should go left when they emerge. Players should then follow the path to find an area with amime. There is a wooden structure in the middle of that area, and there is a Revive Tint Shard inside.
Revive Tint Shard #4
After reaching the Flooded Building expedition flag, descend through the structure and follow the path to enter yet another building. Climb to the top and turn around to face the building’s exterior. Use the handholds to reach the shard.
Revive Tint Shard #5
From the Main Gate expedition flag, keep moving forward to reach aNevron with a hammer. There is a ramp that moves downward just left of that Nevron, and this tint is at the bottom.
Buy the shard from themerchantto the right of the flag.
Revive Tint Shard #7
Walk straight forward from the flag to reach a group ofNevronsthat are slightly elevated. The shard is next to those Nevrons.
Revive Tint Shard #8
As soon as players enter theboss roombeyond the Sewing Atelier, they should lookleftto find some rubble that they can climb. The path at the top leads to a Paint Cage, and players can shoot its three locks from this elevated position to reveal the shard.
Revive Tint Shard #9
Turn yourparty members' backs toward the flag, and walk forward, sticking to the path on theright. Descend the gold thread at the end of the path and continue forward to reach a second gold thread. There is a Paint Cage at the bottom, and it will reveal the shard when its three locks are broken.
Revive Tint Shard #10
After reaching the Ice Heart flag, turn around andbacktrack through the cavern. Upon emerging from the cave, hug theright sideof the area and enter the first alcove on the right, which is home to a Paint Cage. The three locks that must be broken can be found around the perimeter of this alcove.
Beat themap’s boss.
Shape of Life #2
Climb the Manor’s central staircase and head to the left side of the second floor. Look for a painting next to an illuminated lamp. Jump into the painting to access a room with the shape.
