Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2is a game in which players can spend hundreds of hours, with a myriad of small details and unique interactions to keep interest piqued. This also means that there are many advanced tips and tricks forKCD2, which allow players to survive, thrive, and complete quests in new and exciting ways.
These pro tricks and secrets cover various aspects of the game, such as survival elements, combat, and stealth-related mechanics. While not tailored or specific to Hardcore Mode, they should naturally help players beat the game on this harder difficulty.
7Stock Up On Honey To Never Go Hungry
Free, Never Spoils, & Offers Great Nourishment
Henry is famously hungry, and players must make sure to always keep him fed, lest he grow weak or even die of starvation. At a few points during the game, especially early on, acquiring enough food and making sure it doesn’t spoil can be quite the challenge.
Thankfully, there’s an easy way to stay on top of Henry’s hunger. Simply find beehives and loot them for lots ofHoney. Honey never spoils and offers fantastic nourishment, filling up around a third of Henry’s hunger bar. Beehives can be found all around the map wherever there are people. A great spot is in thesoutheast of Troskowitz, as players can stock up right after being released from the stocks after the prologue.
6Save & Exit If You’re Out Of Saviour Schnapps
This Option Is Almost Always Available
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2’ssaving system isn’t for everyone, with players sometimes finding themselves frustratingly short ofSaviour Schnapps. Thankfully, there are a fewother ways to save inKCD2without these.
One of the easiest ways to save a game, especially when players find themselves in a pickle, is to simply save and exit from the menu. Outside of combat and cutscenes, this option is almost always available. The only thing to bear in mind is that you can only have one save and exit file. Doing so will overwrite previous save and exit saves.
5Use Feints In Combat
This Skill Is Not Taught By The Game & Can Make A Huge Difference
While players will learn the basics of combat early on, and they can go to Master Tomcat to learn the Master Strike and other moves, there is one inherent skill that is not mentioned by the game: feinting.
To perform a feint inKingdom Come: Deliverance 2, hold down the attack button in one direction, but before releasing, change directions. This makes attacks more likely to hit, as enemies aren’t ready for the last-second switch.
4Pickpocket Keys For Hard Lockpicks
Pickpocketing Characters Who Are Asleep Is Very Easy
Unless players haveleveled up their Thievery skillextremely high, then the game’s hardest chests to lockpick will be extremely difficult. This means lots of time spent trying and failing, lockpicks breaking, and the risk of getting caught increases as time goes on.
A much easier alternative is to pickpocket keys from the owner of the chest and then simply open it. Characters who are asleep are incredibly easy to pickpocket and will often be found next to their chest. There is also the option to knock them out and then loot their keys.
3Spook Horses With Rocks To Distract Owners Who Run After Them
This Is Also A Good Way To Steal Some Horses
Players may know that they canthrow small rocks inKCD2to distract guards, knock down nests, or even skip stones on water with high enough Agility. However, an even more niche use is to throw a stone at a horse to spook it. The horse will rear at first, and then run off into the distance.
If there is a guard nearby, they will run after the horse to bring it back. This can allow players to take down the guard away from others or to sneak through the door they were guarding. A great use of this is in Sigismund’s Camp, potentially for stealing Gringolet as part of theLost Honour quest.
2Stick With Pebbles Or Herring As They Eventually Become OP
They Arguably Become The Best Horses Thanks To Their Secret Perks
As players progress through the game and earn more Groschen, they will eventually want to purchase one of thebest horses inKCD2. However, what players might not know is that Pebbles and Herring, the two starter horses, can become the best in the game, completely for free.
Henry’s horse, Pebbles, can be reclaimed from the groom at Semine, and Herring is given to him at Trosky Castle as part of the main story. By riding Pebbles for 35km or Herring for 50km, they will unlock the Good Old Pebbles and Red Herring secret Perks, and have their stats vastly improved.
1Get Free Lockpicks From Blacksmithing
Never Run Out Of Lockpicks With The Locksmith Perk
As lockpicks break when failing to open a chest or door, players will find that they often run out, which can ruin their plans. Of course, lockpicks can be bought, but traders will only sell a limited amount. However, if players take the Locksmith Perk at Craftsmanship Level 12, every time they successfully forge an item, they will produce 1-3 lockpicks from the spare metal.
Forging items to use or sell is already more cost-efficient, but this bonus makes the time spent even more worth it. This Perk also increases Henry’s Thievery skill while lockpicking, which in turn means fewer lockpicks will be broken in failed attempts.
